Styled Out: Fashion news round-up

This week in Styled Out I’m giving you a bit of a fashion roundup. There was just too much business of interest to narrow it down to just one topic! Holler.

First and foremost, Tilda Swinton is gracing the cover of W magazine for their July issue, and the spread is a sight for sore eyes.

Is it a touch strange? Sure. But that’s high fashion for you. Her cover shot is of particular interest to me- how amazingly beautiful and androgynous is she? On a scale of one to 10, she’s like a 15. Big whistle at you from me, Tilda.

Gwen Stefani is teaming up with Target to create a new clothing line for kids. I’d be really excited if I wasn’t too busy boycotting the chain. So, instead of promoting and persuading you to check out what L.A.M.B. might have in store on a mass production level, I’ll ask you not to partake, even though it is awesome that it’s for the more fashion forward little one. This might be as sad for you as it is for me, as I have a three-and-a-half -year-old niece to spoil, but I’m not going to be swayed on this matter.

Hey, hey! It was Mereceds Benz Fashion Week in Miami and while you might not be interested in wearing any of the teeny bikinis, you might turn your head to take in the eye candy. Enjoy.

Do you know who Phoebe Philo is? She’s the woman behind Celine and is totally on board with functional, not-so-frivolous fashion, which is a total breath of fresh air. If you need a classic, check out some of her designs. As a proud of owner of a couple of Chloe pieces (where she formally served as creative director), I can vouch that her designs are worth the money. Reference these snapshots from her fall line as proof.

So, did I miss anything?
