Morning Brew – Tuesday, May 24: the L.A. “Times” on Naya Rivera’s stardom, lesbian moms on “What Would You Do”

Good morning!

So you pretty much have to watch this segment from ABC’s What Would You Do, which takes place in a restaurant in a conservative part of Texas. It focuses on a family of lesbian moms, and has a waitress discriminating against them.

Were you surprised? I admit, I was totally amazed by the guy who went outside and wrote them a letter. I kind of love this show.

The L.A. Times profiled Naya Rivera and Santana’s coming out on Glee. Here’s a select quote:

Honestly, I never thought I’d actually be playing a teen lesbian. I didn’t think it was going to go this far. But I’m glad that it did, because there have been a lot of fans who have expressed that they’ve been going through similar situations in their lives. I’ve heard from girls that are in high school, they’re 16, 17, and they’re like, “I came out to my mom,’ or ‘I came out to my friends, and thank you for helping me do that.”

I still remember when I first met her last summer and told her lesbians loved her and were hoping for some Brittana action! She’s always been game. Let’s start the chant: “She’s number one! She’s number one!”

Let’s talk threesomes, shall we? If you watched SNL on Saturday, you saw Lady Gaga‘s musical short with Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg, “3-Way.”

Well, of course, Gaga was asked by a reporter if she’d ever participated in one. She said:

Um, well I suppose I have, yes. I don’t want to reveal too much. I can just say the truth.

In related news, HollywoodLife is running a poll on the hottest threesome, which includes two-girl scenes from Wild Things and Gossip Girl. No Laurel Canyon?

UK TV personality Louie Spence is, for some unknown reason, dressed up like Cheryl Cole for Heat magazine. He told the mag:

I’m going to look like a butch lesbian Cheryl. A very glam butch lesbian Cheryl.

I can confirm you look neither glam nor like a butch lesbian. Also, you don’t look like Cheryl. Fail.
