Afternoon Delight: Lesbians rule “The Voice” and Happy Birthday to Tina Fey!

Happy Birthday to Tina Fey! The Bossypants author and 2008 AE Hot 100 winner turns 41 today.

Congratulations to The Voice‘s out singer Beverly McClellan who out-sung her competition last night and secured herself a spot in the live performances. Mentored by Christina Aguilera (hubba hubba) McClellan performed The Who‘s “Baba O’Riley” (aka “Teenage Wasteland”) and left her opponent, Justin Grennan, in the dust. Cee Lo praised McClellan’s performance: “You stole it, you owned it, and then you sold it!” Do you think McClellan will go all the way?

If you missed last week’s episode of The Voice, last week’s battle round winner Vicci Martinez (who’s also an out and proud singer) sat down with the Today Show and discussed her big victory.

Tony award winner Kristin Chenoweth‘s new ABC series Good Christian Bitches has been changed to Good Christian Belles. (The show is based on Kim Gatlin’s book Good Christian Bitches.) The Parents Television Council bombarded ABC with complaints and called the show’s original title “offensive.” The irony is the people at the Parents Television Council are acting like a bunch of bitches over the show’s title. (Did I use the word “irony” correctly?) The show will premiere midseason on ABC.

The Syfy channel is bringing the Canadian supernatural series Lost Girl to the USA. Actress Anna Silk (The Ghost Whisperer) stars as Bo, a “demon seductress who feeds off sexual energy.” As a consumer of human energy will Bo join the light clans or the dark clans? Tune in September 12th to find out.

The fall CBS’s The Good Wife will move to Sundays at 9pm. As long as Archie Panjabi is still on the show I don’t care when it airs.

Good news for all you Hello Kitty fans! China will debut its first ever Hello Kitty theme park in 2014. (There are already two Hello Kitty parks in Japan.) Construction beings this July on the 150-acre park located in China’s Zhejiang province.

If you live in Los Angeles and you love puppets (who doesn’t) check out Fairy Tale Theater: 18 & Over. Out director Annie McVey and her cast of puppet masters will be performing their “Best of” show at the ACME Theater on Tuesday May 24th at 8pm. Bawdy puppets? Count me in!

Tonight Suze Orman will sit down with Tavis Smiley on PBS, Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids) will be on Chelsea Lately and tomorrow night (Thursday, May 19th) Chaz Bono will stop by Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Lesbian/ Bi Photo of the Day

Michelle Wolff (Dante’s Cove) stars in out director J.A. Steel’s new horror film Blood Fare. I have a feeling this masterpiece will be up for a few Academy Awards.
