Morning Brew – Monday, May 16: “Corrie” at the British Soap Awards, is Harry Potter heading to “Glee”?

Morning, Brewbies! Have any of you heard these rumors floating around about Dan Radcliffe guest starring on the season finale of Glee? A couple of days ago, a Glee “New York” credit popped up on his IMDB page, and no one from Fox seems to be confirming or denying the rumor. Facts: He’s in New York right now receiving rave reviews for his performance in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Fact: He can sing and dance. Fact: He knows a lot of magic. Perhaps a little something like this:

I mean, not that they need any help. Santana and Brittany are two of the most magical characters on TV right now.

It was a good weekend for Lady Gaga. She became the first person to lock down ten million Twitter followers. (After being the first person to lock down seven million, then eight million, then nine million Twitter followers.) And she performed at BBC1 Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Gaga Daily has loads of videos from the event, including one of her singing “Judas” in her Catholic-rage-inducing crucifix leather knickers.

Coronation Street pulled down some British Soap Awards over the weekend, including Most Spectacular Scene of the Year for their tram crash and Best Storyline of the Year for all of Kevin and Sally’s shouting as they destroyed their marriage (and almost destroyed their lesbian daughter!). I think Corrie deserves a gazillion awards for their Sophie and Sian storyline, and a bonus trophy for not killing either of them off during their award-winning bloodbath.

Brooke Vincent and Sacha Parkinson attended The British Soap Awards together, looking as adorable as ever.

Our brothers at alerted us to Concerned Women Blog, a blog of women concerned about — wait for it — the gay propaganda Fox threw at them by airing Google’s “It Gets Better” commercial during American Idol last week.

Apparently, American Idol with the help of Woody from Disney’s Toy Story, thinks that my 4th grader needs to be fully aware of the plight of teens who view themselves as ‘gay.’ I am sorry, but he doesn’t even know about heterosexual sex yet. Can you give me some room here? I am ticked because I feel tricked. Fox blew it last night. The point is parents felt secure in allowing our entire families watch this show. They lured us into a false sense of security and broke trust with us last night.”

Oh, I see. So when you say you’re “concerned,” you mean you’re “bats–t crazy.” Got it. Also, lady, I really wish you wouldn’t use phallic imagery like “blew it” this early in the morning. I felt secure reading your blog because you said it was about women. You lured me into a false sense of security and broke my trust. Do you see how insane I sound? No? OK, there’s no help for you then.

The lovely ladies over at let us know that there’s going to be a second season of Los Aparicio, which is really good news for fans of the super sexy Julia and Mariana.

We’ve got all kinds of goodies coming for you from this weekend’s GLAAD Awards, including Dorothy Snarker’s red carpet recap and an interview with Naya Rivera, so stay tuned for that. Also, Chaz Bono is going to be on The Talk today chatting about his OWN documentary, Becoming Chaz.

See you back here tomorrow!
