Afternoon Delight: Elizabeth Falkner could be the next Iron Chef, new episodes of “Ab Fab”

Good Afternoon!

Wanda Sykes is having a good time on the set of Drop Dead Diva.

The new season returns in June and will feature an episode with Sykes playing a judge in a case inspired by teen activist Constance McMillen.

My hopes and dreams of seeing Lindsay Lohan play Victoria Gotti have officially come to an end. Gotti: Three Generations producer Marc Foire announced that Lohan is no longer in the running to be America’s Next Top Model for the role. Foire told People Magazine, “We are not talking any further about Lindsay playing Victoria. She is no longer being considered. The talks have stopped. We are going to meet with other people [for the role]. She a wonderful person. Her legal case has nothing to do with it. We just couldn’t reach terms.” What happened? How can I fix this? When will I see my Lindsay again? Why does she keep sending me restraining orders?

In some genuinely distressing news, it looks like Pam Spaulding and her excellent blog Pam’s House Blend have been under attack and could use the support of readers who appreciate her contributions to the online community.

On the flip side, I also have some absolutely fabulous news. The brilliant British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous will be returning to the BBC1 after a six-year absence. That’s right, the angels have heard my prayers. Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley will reprise their roles as Patsy and Edina for three new episodes of the sitcom. Lumley told Hello! Magazine that they will begin shooting this summer.

Lumley told The Guardian UK, “In late August I start filming on three episodes of Absolutely Fabulous, which we are all ecstatic about. Miss Saunders has been so busy writing Uptown Downstairs Abbey for Comic Relief and also Spice Girls: The Musical, I don’t think she’s started [the script].” I am beyond excited about this news. Christmas has come early, my sweeties!

Speaking of sweeties, I’ll be performing for Sweet Travel in Isla Mujeres, Mexico from April 30 to May 7. Escape with me to a secluded wonderland with the eco-friendly lesbian travel company of the future! (Time-travel not included.)

Lesbian chef Elizabeth Falkner has a 1 in 10 chance of becoming The Next Iron Chef. Today the Food Network announced the cast for the fourth season of the series, which premieres on October 30. Falkner is the executive pastry chef and owner of San Francisco’s Citizen Cake and executive chef and co-owner of Orson. I’m crossing my fingers that Falkner will join Cat Cora on the podium so Cora will no longer be the lone female Iron Chef.

Justin Timberlake will host the season finale of Saturday Night Live, with musical guest Lady Gaga. Gaga has already been transported to the stage via egg and mated with a motorcycle for her most recent album cover. What will the provocative artist do on SNL? Who knows, but I have a feeling we should all fasten our seatbelts while we watch.

Tonight Christina Aguilera will be the first ever honoree on The Abbey’s Gay Walk of Fame alongside Abbey Founder David Cooley. The Abbey is known as “The Best Gay Bar in the World” (or as I call it “A Place to Buy a $14 Martini and Wait 30 Minutes in a Bathroom Line”). The VIP Venue Preview Event begins at 6 PM tonight in West Hollywood and the ceremony starts at 10 PM. Aguilera will place her hands and feet in cement at The Abbey and hopefully not get stuck. Is anyone else sick of gay awards being disproportionately given to gay men and straight woman? Where is the lesbian love? I mean, um, congratulations to Aguilera!

Attention Spashley fans! If you’re interested in making the South of Nowhere movie into a reality then the producers need your help. The cast and crew have created fan movies and are looking to hit 100,000 views by April 27.
