Morning Brew – Wed. April 20: Jane Lynch interviews her wife, Cass Bird photographs Cate Blanchett for the cover of T magazine

Morning!

On last night’s episode of Pregnant in Heels, lesbian trainer Lacey Stone tried to help a mom-to-be get into shape. Unfortunately, she was met with a lot of resistance.

Rosie O’Donnell showed up on Planet Green’s The Fabulous Beekman Boys last night, where she wanted to eat cheese, chocolate and walk with her girlfriend through a gay-friendly upstate NY town. That sounds like my dream life.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Kathleen Turner talks briefly about her role in the new film The Perfect Family, in which she plays a very religious mom to a lesbian daughter (played by Emily Deschanel). She told the site:

I play the perfect Catholic wife in it. I don’t think I’ve ever played a Catholic in my life and now I’ve played two roles back to back about being a Catholic. I hope they don’t get any ideas about me and try to approach me about joining up. They’d be so disappointed.

This just in: Movies aren’t real life.

OK do not read if you don’t want to be spoiled silly with good news about Santana. Glee exec producer Brad Falchuck says the prom episode will have some very special stuff for our gal, San-San. (I promise to never do that again.) Here’s what he said:

We now have a major character on one of the top shows on TV who is a lesbian. Whether she’s dating someone or not is not really what we’re getting at here. Brittany will be a part of [her story], but the focus will be on Santana’s struggle with acceptance.

And it all goes down on prom night, as it should, because that’s when all the straight teens have sex, so why should lesbians be left out?

GlobalGrind has a photogallery of “Bi-Winning Bisexual Babes,” if you’re into that sort of thing. Note that Nelly Furtado later revised her statement on her sexuality, but enjoy the picture nonetheless.

The Florida Family Association is deep in denial. They’re attacking Degrassi for having LGBT teens on their show. Here’s their complaint:

You would think by the number of episodes that MTV devotes to including the relationship between a female to male transgender high school student and a bisexual lesbian student that such relationships are common occurrence in America’s high schools.

Excuse me while I LMFAO and then die reading the letter they are encouraging people to send in protest. I hate to tell you this, Florida, but THEY ARE.

Out photographer Cass Bird shot this cover photo of Cate Blanchett for T magazine.

The Hairpin notes that she’s been getting a ton of work lately, including some cool music videos, Levi’s print ad and the new cover of Details.

Jessie J is a single gal right now, she tells South Florida Gay News:

I need to love myself right now. (This career) doesn’t really lend itself to being in a serious relationship, but I’m very excited for — I won’t say all of my girlfriends, but anyone that I’ve had in my life that I’ve loved. There’s no drama, and I’m happy to write songs about people that I love.

She also says she hates when celebs use sexuality for attention and that she’d like to do an X-rated version of Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl.”

Jane Lynch interviewed her wife Lara Embry for Access Hollywood. It’s awesome.

Out poet Kay Ryan has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry for The Best of It: New and Selected Poems. Congrats Kay! (She totally reads Morning Brew, right?)

And while we’re being literary, check out this short story from Malinda Lo.

Marlene King wants Lindsay Lohan for Pretty Little Liars. Sign. Me. Up.
