Afternoon Delight: Angelina’s “Style of Jolie,” Penelope Cruz is a Gleek

Happy Friday and a very happy birthday to Linda Perry! If you’re in Los Angeles you can give your birthday wishes directly to the rock goddess who is producing and performing at tomorrow night’s An Evening with Women alongside Cyndi Lauper, Cat Power, Juliette Lewis and Sarah Silverman.

Lady Gaga‘s new single “Judas” was leaked on the Internet today. Who’s going to clean up the spill?

“Judas” was initially scheduled to come out on April 19, but the always shocking artist surprised us again with the song’s early release. Controversy over the song’s music video has been circulating for weeks and the video’s co-director, Laurieann Gibson, told MTV that the video (in which Gaga will play Mary Magdalene) will be “groundbreaking.” Take a listen and let me know if you think Gaga is reinventing the wheel.

Angelina Jolie is an action star, humanitarian and … jewelry designer? Yep. Jolie has teamed up with jeweler Robert Procop to design a collection called, “Style of Jolie.” Sales of the jewelry will benefit the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. (Say that five times fast!) Procop told People magazine that Jolie “wanted to create some beautiful art around jewels with the mission of helping children.”

Procop describes the collection as “what she (Jolie) enjoys wearing on the red carpet, but also what she enjoys wearing when she’s at home. It’s also what she enjoys giving as a gift.” That’s pretty vague. If you want to purchase Jolie’s red carpet collection you’re out of luck because they are only being sold to “private clients” at the moment. Although Procop suggested that later this year the items might be available for retail purchase by the general public (you know, common folk like you and me.)

This weekend, OneMoreLesbian.com will premiere the five minute teaser for LezBeProud, the new lesbian web series about a group of friends in Texas. The series will premiere this Sunday, April 17 at 7 PM PST with the teaser, and the episodes will follow monthly.

In WTF news, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will make a guest appearance on 30 Rock this season. Rice, will play Alec Baldwin‘s ex-girlfriend on the show’s season finale. (During 30 Rock’s first season, Baldwin’s character, Jack Donaghy, mentioned that he had dated a “high-ranking African-American member of the Bush Administration.”) Is anyone else traumatized by this announcement?

Adele is not only a fantastic singer she’s also a terrific boss! In celebration of all her recent success, Adele and her label have given every staff member (including the office cleaners and the interns) at her company, XL Recordings, a £1,000 bonus! Is Adele hiring?

Former Charlie’s Angels film star and executive producer Drew Barrymore is excited about the show’s new reboot and encourages the three new heavenly angels to “Kick serious ass.” I encourage them to kick serious ass in bikinis and pull each other’s hair.

The legendary Carol Channing‘s documentary, Carol Channing: Larger Than Life, will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 23. The film showcases the 90-year old Broadway actress’s epic life, both on and off screen, and features the one and only Lily Tomlin. I love them both!

Are you a Gleek? Well, so is Penelope Cruz! The Academy Award-winning actress told Entertainment Weekly that she and her husband Javier Bardem love Glee. Cruz raves, “It’s actually the only thing that I watch on television.” I suggest that Cruz guest star on Glee and have a whipped cream fight with Jane Lynch! (Am I the only one with that fantasy?)

Speaking of Glee, Lea Michele wants to get another tattoo (which would make eleven). Michele got her last tat with Glee co-stars Jenna Ushkowtiz and Kevin McHale. “I have 10, but they’re tiny.” I think Michele’s next tattoo should be a tramp stamp of Kristin Chenoweth‘s face surrounded by musical notes. Now that’s classy!

Lesbian/Bi Moment of Justice:

Congratulations to the state of Delaware! Delaware’s House of Representatives voted to legalize civil unions for same-sex couples. The proposal passed by a 26 to 15 vote. The bill now goes to Governor Markell for his signature. HRC President Joe Solmonese said of the victory, “Today, we celebrate a victory for all Delaware families who will have the tools to protect themselves in good times and in bad. We look forward to Governor Markell signing this bill into law and thank Senator Sokola and Representative George for their leadership on this bill, and Equality Delaware for their tireless dedication.”

The bill will allow same-sex couples to have civil unions, which will give them all of the rights and benefits of marriage under state law. Same-sex couples will still not be permitted to acquire marriage licenses. We have more work to do in order to obtain full equality, but we’re on our way!

Have a great weekend!
