Styled Out: Put some spring in your step (and your closet)

Hi, Spring. You might remember me; we’ve been introduced a few times but I feel like you’re running a little late this year. I thought we had a date? You have your reasons and excuses that I can understand but, well, I was pretty mad at you for a little while. Luckily, there have been a few things that have caught my eye that are just too appropriate to debut in your warm(ish) sunshine to stay angry for long!

First on the list puts the fun in functional. If one shields herself from the elements, she will inevitably be happier and more comfortable when she arrives at her destination and this little number from Columbia does the trick. Sometimes (always) it’s worth the few extra bills in order to not sweat while remaining waterproof.

Comedian/actress Sarah Silverman made me fall in love with her all over again last week when she was on Conan. She stuck with her usual ensemble on top (T-shirt/hoodie) and paired it with a denim mini skirt, tights and shoes pretty similar to these by Dolce Vita. What do you think? I kind of love the strange sandal hybrid, and Sarah makes me confident that I could wear it with anything.

As usual, I’ve saved the best for last. Threadless has released their first ever equality focused T-shirt for us all to enjoy.

Get your own Love is Love shirt for a mere $20. Or, if you’re feeling saucy (and I hope that you are), Threadless has generously offered to give you one for free if you email me a photo of yourself in your favorite look for Spring 2011 to be featured in a future Styled Out post. #bi-winning!

To win, send a photo of your look and a short description of why it’s awesome to [email protected] for a chance to win! All entries must be in by this Friday, April 1st by 5 p.m. PST.

Good luck! And spring, you have arrived!
