Happy Birthday to Xena star Lucy Lawless! The New Zealand beauty has most recently been on ABC’s action series No Ordinary Family playing Mrs. X. What is with Lawless and “X” names? My favorite word that begins with “X” is Xanthomelanus.
The end is near for The Oprah Winfrey Show. Winfrey announced that her groundbreaking talk show will end on May 25. The media mogul and LGBT supporter (remember when she played Ellen DeGeneres’s therapist?) has hosted her award-winning daytime talk show for 25 years and now plans to star in a nighttime talk show, Oprah’s Next Chapter. The Next Chapter will premiere in late 2011 on OWN.
We told you back in November that Angelina Jolie would be the subject of Bluewater Production’s biographical Female Force comic books, and we’re happy to report that the issue is available tomorrow! US Weekly reports that the 32-page book, (costing $3.99) “will feature a colorful look at her career ups and downs as well as her unconventional family life with love Brad Pitt, 47, and their kids Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 4, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.” Also out tomorrow will be the Black Eyed Peas edition, featuring bi pop goddess Fergie.
On Sunday, Britney Spears performed in San Francisco and gave a special shout-out to the local gay youths who were in attendance from the Larkin Street homeless shelter and the LYRIC center for LGBT youth. Spears said, “They’re in the front row; thanks for coming,” Spears did not single out any straight audience members, so we win!
Also in Good Wife news, actress Archie Panjabi who plays the sexually fluid Kalinda Sharma (the firm’s in-house private investigator) is still really hot! That’s it. Check back tomorrow just in case we have an update on her temperature.
Speaking of sexy women, it’s that time of the year again! This Thursday kicks off The Dinah in Palm Springs, CA! If you have no idea what The Dinah is all about, watch the below clip and get yourself educated!
Some of the AfterEllen.com contributors will be there participating in a variety of events and looking to meet up with our readers! First up is our annual Dance Magic contest at 5 pm on Friday, April 1 (how appropriate!) on the mainstage by the main pool at The Riviera Resort, hosted by yours truly and my fellow comedian Fortune Feimster, and the winner will get to display their extreme dance moves on my Logo show That Time of the Month.
On Saturday, April 2, from 9 am to 5 pm, AfterEllen.com is hosting the Cabana Girl Pool Party (also at the Riviera main pool), and at noon come join us at our Logo Lounge for an AE meet up. In attendance will be Trish Bendix, Dara Nai, Fortune Feimster, Lesley Goldberg, Grace Chu, Karman Kregloe, myself and the band That’s What She Said, who will also be performing in the lounge at 1 pm. I hope to see you there, so start stretching!
Lesbian/bi-ish Video of the Day:
Black Swan is out on DVD today, and here’s a little clip to help you decide whether or not you want to 1.) make the purchase 2.) be a ballerina or 3.) find out just how “good” Mila Kunis actually is.
See you tomorrow!
