Afternoon Delight: Lindsay drops Lohan and Michelle Rodriguez is all tied up

Happy Friday!

It’s official. Lindsay Lohan is changing her name! Lohan will be removing “Lohan” from her name and will now just be referred to as “Lindsay.” Lindsay’s mother Dina Sullivan explains in an exclusive interview with Popeater, “Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay. Plus, me and [younger daughter] Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan.”

Lindsay will be joining the many celebrities in history that only go by one name, including Oprah, Madonna, Cher, Prince, and Lassie. Maybe dropping her surname will free her up to focus on acting. Remember when Lindsay was an actress? Me neither.

Britney Spears has invited us all (via her Twitter page) to her “secret” live concert in Las Vegas tonight. Spears will take the stage twice (8 pm for a ticketed event and at midnight for a show open to the general public) at Palms Casino Resort’s Rain Nightclub. Spears will be shooting an MTV special at tonight’s event and is preparing for Tuesday’s release of her new album Femme Fatale.

Deadline.com reports that Saturday Night Live alum Maya Rudolph is set to star in a new NBC show produced by SNL’s Lorne Michaels. It’s about time!

Rudolph will star in the untitled project alongside Christina Applegate (Samantha Who?). If they are looking for a title for their show, they should call it, Bridget’s Dream Come True! (I have a comedy crush on both Rudolph and Applegate.)

Are you looking for the right perfume to reflect how you truly feel inside? Then check out Avon’s new fragrance by actress Reese Witherspoon. I didn’t know Witherspoon had “Perfumer” on her resume. Witherspoon, who is Avon’s first-ever global ambassador (what does that actually mean?), has designed three perfumes to represent her varying moods. Her three fragrances are “Love to the Fullest,” “Laugh Often”and “Live Without Regrets.” If I had three fragrances, they would be called “Happy,” “Grumpy” and “Doc.”

Academy Award winner and bird impersonator Natalie Portman is getting a taste of the dark side of fame. Portman’s Black Swan dance double, Sarah Lane, is accusing the star and the film executives of silencing her during interviews about the movie.

Lane spoke to Dance Magazine about her frustration with the film, “They were trying to create this facade that she had become a ballerina in a year-and-a-half. So I knew they didn’t want to publicize anything about me.” Lane, who now wants to pursue acting (shocking!), also said, “I’m not really looking for any sort of recognition. The process was a huge learning experience and I got everything I wanted out of it.” Everything, except the glory! Or a “thank you” from Portman during her Oscar acceptance speech.

Portman’s baby-daddy, Benjamin Millepied, spoke to the L.A. Times in defense to his finance/incubator, “(Lane) just did the footwork and the fouettes and one diagonal in the studio. Honestly, 85% of that movie is Natalie.”

I’m not sure what Lane expected. Body doubles and stunt doubles have always done the grueling work without being recognized and praised. I constantly work as Jessica Alba’s body double and I don’t complain about not getting credit for her perfectly chiseled abs and amazingly round buttocks. For me, it’s all about the craft.

Speaking of sexy chicks in an institution (was I the only one thinking about that?) the female action film Sucker Punch is finally out in theaters this weekend and has been taking a serious beating from critics. For example, Moviefone reviewer Todd Gilchrist calls the film a “misfire” and “unfortunately, just not a great film.”

Not a great film? Hotties baring their midriffs and kicking ass? What more could an audience member want? Plot? Compelling characters? Stop being greedy and go out there and support these ladies at the box office. Or not. Check back next week for our review. I give the trailer for the film an “A+” for sexiness!

Speaking of tough chicks, Michelle “Mitchie Likes Sausage” Rodriguez is into bondage! Well, in music videos, anyway. The Avatar star is featured in Steve Aoki and Sidney Samson‘s music video/short film “Wake Up Call” directed by Jason Beattie.

Mitchie’s grin scares me. What do you think of this frightening video?

Lady Gaga is keeping her fans on their toes by releasing a new “Country Road Version” of her hit song “Born This Way” via her official YouTube Channel. I like this version better than the original dance version. Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Lesbian/bi Video of the Day:

Freckles’ music video “Uh Huh” tells a story that so many of us have experienced firsthand. Have you ever been in love with your best friend who has a boyfriend? Uh huh!

Have a great weekend!
