Afternoon Delight: Olivia Wilde on the set of “House,” Mo’Nique honored for being our ally

Greetings, earthlings!

Here’s a shot of the cover of the new issue of g3 featuring out actress/singer Heather Peace (Lip Service):

The second season of The Real L Word will premiere on June 5 at 10 pm on Showtime. There will be nine episodes total, and we’ll keep you posted with casting news as soon as we get the scoop!

Yo, Pretty Little Liars fans. Show creator Marlene King recently talked to TheTVChick.com about Emily (played by Shay Mitchell) and Paige:

TTC: And Emily’s storyline this season has been so great, and such an important story to tell. How is that going to continue to develop in the second half of this season.
MK:
Emily sort of has found a comfort level for herself in terms of her sexuality, and what’s interesting is there are going to be two girls who come into her life, and her romantic life is going to be less “Am I gay or am I not gay?” and more about finding the right person now. So it’s going to be sort of typical teen romance, but it happens to be girls instead of a girl and a guy.

TTC: Is Paige going to be sticking around for a while longer?
MK:
Paige is going to be sticking around for the rest of this season. And we’re unsure about next season, but definitely this season.

Do you consider this “Paige sticking around” business to be good news or bad news? Discuss.

Tina Fey was one of several stars to pay tribute to 30 Rock co-star Alec Baldwin last night at the Museum of the Moving Image, and Vulture has posted her speech in its entirety. I particularly liked this part:

The part of Jack Donaghy was written for Alec Baldwin. Unfortunately, I did not have the courage to introduce myself to him and tell him that at the time, so for several months I met with some of the best actors in New York, and also some that are only okay. And with each meeting I had in an attempt to cast Jack Donaghy, it just became clearer and clearer that this part was for no one except Alec Baldwin. And so I knew what I had to do: I got pregnant and I stalled for a year. And then when I came back from my maternity leave at SNL, Alec was hosting the show, and he was having fun with it that week and the sketches were not terrible, thankfully, and so Lorne and I said to each other, ‘Should we ask him? Maybe we should just ask him.’ And so, I hid and Lorne asked him, and here we are five years and almost a hundred dollars later.

And I still cannot believe how lucky we are to have him. Alec is a writer’s dream in that he speaks quickly and memorizes well, and other stuff I don’t really understand. But I know that over the last five years, our writers have asked Jack Donaghy to do everything from imitate every member of Tracy Jordan’s family, to play his own Mexican doppelgänger, to, you know, act out a heartfelt good-bye scene with a live peacock trying to sodomize a Dick Cheney look-alike. And he has done each of those things with a grace and precision that is prophetic. Jack Donaghy is a special character to me, and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that not since Archie Bunker has there been a television character that my parents agree with so often. They’re enjoying it on a different level.

US Magazine reports that Rosario Dawson took, ahem, matters into her own hands at the Independent Spirit Awards over the weekend.

Dawson grew weary of actor Paul Rudd repeatedly groping Eva Mendes‘s breasts in a scripted routine for the show. Dawson said, “I’m a women’s rights activist and I was getting a little tired that he was grabbing her boob onstage for half an hour. … I was sitting there with my fork like, ‘If he doesn’t stop, I’m going to stab him with my fork. So I got up there and I stabbed him with my fork, and he didn’t stop, so I was like, alright, I’m going to grab his package.”

An”onlooker” told US “Eva kept laughing nervously and Paul seemed totally not into the joke.” Dawson told Access Hollywood, “It wasn’t bad. It was actually a pretty good package. I’ve kind of been curious since I was a teenager watching Clueless. Women should get to cop a feel, too.”

I already thought the Oscars telecast was boring, but in comparison to the Independent Spirit Awards, it really was a snooze. I think she should dedicate that grope to Halle Berry (yes, I’m still pissed at Adrien Brody, even after all these years).

You should stay away from the Playboy Mansion until they get this mess sorted out.

Omar Epps Tweeted this photo with the caption, “Guess who’s back …”:

Nope, that’s not an Olivia Wilde muppet there in the back row. I’m pretty sure it’s Olivia Wilde herself, on the set of House.

And this is my favorite tweet so far this week (yes, I know it’s only Tuesday, but we’ll see who can top it):

Finally, Mo’Nique (Precious) will be the recipient of the Human Rights Campaign’s Ally for Equality Award at the dinner in Atlanta May 14, 2011 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. We love her!
