Morning Brew: Wednesday, Feb. 9: Sara Ramirez looks sexy in “Latina,” Ukrainian pop star Nikita goes girl-on-girl in new video

Happy Hump Day!

Sara Ramirez is on the cover of Latina magazine and, well, wow.

The whole story isn’t available for reading yet, but we’ll definitely have a full post on the story for you as soon as we get it. Until then, here’s a video from behind-the-scenes of her photoshoot.

Know who else is on the cover of a magazine this month? Shay Mitchell, and it’s a sweet Valentine’s Day themed photospread that you can see in its entirety online.

I feel like she’s saying “Be Mine.”

Now this may be spoilerish, but I think it is definitely worth watching, Pretty Little Liars fans. Emily is kissing someone in the promo for next week’s episode. Any guesses who?

Did you see that one coming?

If you happened to catch some of the GoDaddy.com commercials during the Super Bowl (and I’m sure you did, considering they starred Jillian Michaels and Danica Patrick), you likely saw Joan Rivers being introduced as one of the newest GD girls. Except it was more like Joan’s head, and someone else’s body. Now it’s come out that the body belongs to Tabitha Taylor, a bisexual model.

However, this is based only on her Facebook profile, which lists that she is interested in meeting “men and women.” This could easily be what she’s looking for from fans or networking purposes, so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

TheAwl.com says that Nikita is Ukraine’s Lady Gaga. If that’s true, then Gaga has got to step up her girl-on-girl game like in this new video from the Ukrainian pop star. (Warning: NSFW.)

Doesn’t that make Rihanna’s video for “S&M” look really tame in comparison?

Rosie O’Donnell will appear on the NBC show Who Do You Think You Are? on Feb. 18, and she spoke with The Examiner about why she wanted to trace her family tree and return to television. When asked about if she was hoping to find a homosexuality gene in her family history, here’s what she had to say:

No, I didn’t. I thought I would find maybe something like that about my grandmother because she didn’t get married until she was very old, and there were all these photos and her and other women on the beach in the ’20s. And I remember saying to my brother, “Eddie, wouldn’t that be funny to find out like if Nana was gay?” But no, there were no gays. We didn’t find any gays.

Although I don’t know how recorded it would have been in the census of the 1800s, so who knows if one of my distant relatives. But, we found mostly Irish Catholic people who got married and had lots of children, but there was no homosexuality that we discovered in any way.

You can find out much more about Rosie’s family and her experience on the show by reading the whole interview.

Our Good Taste columnist Candace Walsh has penned a piece on co-parenting children with a new lesbian partner after you’ve left your husband. It is co-written with her partner, Laura Andre, which is pretty fitting for the subject matter, don’t you think? I don’t know how they do it. If I tried to write a story with my girlfriend, I think it’d end up reading like the writer had alters like on United States of Tara. (I’d be a mix of Tara and T, and my girlfriend would be Buck.)

Star Magazine has been reporting that Jillian Michaels is adopting her child with partner Heidi Rhodes, but I can confirm to you that her publicist says this is not true. “Jillian is adopting as a single parent,” she told me, which means it’s not weird that every interview Jillian has done about the process has been full of “I, I, I” and “me, me, me.” Because if there was another mom involved, that’d be kind of awkward.

Daniel Tosh has made a very lesbianish fake Super Bowl commercial about the WNBA.

Funnier than offensive, in my opinion. I love the WNBA!

And in something a little more serious, Ms. Magazine has a great piece on their blog called “Will Gay Ugandan’s Death Save Lesbian Ugandan’s Life?” If something good can come out of David Kato’s murder, let’s hope it is the saving of many LGBT Ugandans seeking asylum.
