Morning Brew – Monday, January 31: Natalia Kills to perform at The Dinah, a lesbian character on BBC3’s “Coming of Age”

Morning!

Minnie Crowe plays a new lesbian character, Robyn Crisp, on BBC Three show Coming of Age. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at Minnie filming with star Joe Tracini.

If you’re in the UK, you can watch her in the latest episode at the BBC site. (Thanks for the tip, Lotak!)

Two lesbians in Minnesota were selected as part of their high school’s royal court for Snow Days, but the school was attempting to bar them from walking in the processional as a couple. The Anoka-Hennepin School District has since changed their minds, based largely on the federal law suit quickly filed against them, and the girls will be able to participate, just like all of their straight peers. Like they should have initially. Because what were they going to do while walking together? Grope each other and promote the gay agenda?

Tabatha Coffey appeared on NBC New York over the weekend to discuss her new book, It’s Not Really About the Hair.

The Examiner interviewed Sara Gilbert about The Talk, and asked her why she decided to go vegan.

I became a vegetarian at age 13 because I was into animal issues and felt like it was kinder not to eat animals. A few years ago I started to learn more about other people’s ideas on dairy and I decided to take it to the next level.

And she also talked about how “open minded” her generation is.

I like that and I feel like people are less likely to judge other people than they use to be. I do think we could be more motivated as a generation to help people and to facilitate change. I think a lot of wonderful people do a lot of great things, but I’d like to see our generation, including myself, do even more.

Do-gooding, vegan lesbian? Have you ever heard of such a thing?

The latest addition to Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend is Natalia Kills. And while the rising singer might be straight, she has an awesome sense of humor about it. The New Gay has an interview with her about when she first realized she was straight, and the biggest challenge she faces as a straight person today.

(Also, she’d go gay for Mila Kunis.)
