Morning Brew – Wednesday, January 5: Lesbian couples on “The Fashion Show,” Rebecca Drysdale’s “It Gets Better” music video

Happy Hump Day!

If Rebecca Drysdale’s “It Gets Better” music video doesn’t make you want to laugh and cry, you have no heart.

Your daily Lindsay Lohan update: TMZ reports she will move out of of her newly purchased beach home if it makes neighbor/ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson happy. They have also made a handy visual for you.

In more positive news, LiLo is said to be launching a new website for her music career, and La Roux is involved. Interesting!

Photographer Diane Levine told Spinner.com that she loved photographing Tegan and Sara in 2010. Here’s why:

I honestly think Tegan and Sara would be great to be stuck on a long bus ride or plane ride with, because they are so entertaining to talk to Tegan, Sara and Hayley are all such incredible musicians, and it’s great to know that there are kind, funny, down-to-earth people behind these two superpopular bands.

Multiple times throughout working with Tegan and Sara, I thought to myself, ‘These girls should have a talk show!’ They are beyond funny, witty and charming. We shot a piece with them and Hayley Williams [from Paramore] before their show in Long Island, and had a blast working with all three of them.

On last night’s episode of The Fashion Show, the designers competed in a challenge where they created outfits for gay couples’ civil unions. Two of the couples were lesbian partnerships, and they were adorable.

Michael Ausiello is reporting that Olivia Wilde will make her return to House on episode 18. So that means we have 10 more to go before Thirteen shows up on our screens again.

The other big scoop he’s got for us? Kalinda’s old flame, FBI agent Lana Delaney, will be reappearing on The Good Wife. Jill Flint, what garages will you lead Archie Panjabi to this time?

Check it out, guys: Buffy comic #40!

The book hits shelves January 19 and there will be several Buffy Birthday Parties happening in select cities to celebrate.

Courtenay Semel talked with TooFab about the anniversary of her ex-girlfriend Casey Johnson’s death this week. She told the blog:

Casey is still very much loved and missed. Her being gone has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about her and wish she was here. My heart goes out to her family today. She touched so many peoples’ lives and that is what should be remembered.

Jeanette Winterson contributed to a list of writers’ favorite short stories for The Guardian. Her pick? A thrilling love story: “The Night Driver” by Italo Calvino.

Lesbian author Gabriella Goliger talked with ShalomLife about her new novel, Girl Unwrapped. She told the site that both Jewish people and lesbians will appreciate the book equally.

I suppose a Jewish audience would feel especially connected to some of the Jewish references and themes, a lesbian audience would connect strongly to the lesbian story and a Jewish lesbian would identify most of all. Yet having said that, I believe the characters are real enough to appeal to a wide readership. People read fiction precisely to learn about others, to encounter other souls, to find what is different and the same among all of us. In short, you don’t have to be Jewish to read and enjoy a Jewish story.

So if you’re a Jewish lesbian, you’ll love it even more.

Today in Lesbian TV: The Ellen DeGeneres Show (check local listings), The Talk (CBS 2 p.m.) and The Rachel Maddow Show (MSNBC 9 p.m. and midnight) (Thanks Roni!)
