Morning Brew: Beth Ditto ties the knot, Shay Mitchell gives the world a lesson in Emily 101

Good morning, Brewbies! Are you following Trish Bendix (@TrishBendix) on Twitter to stay up-to-date on all the shenanigans going down at TCA? If not, what are you waiting for? She hung out with Sasha Alexander and Angie Harmon last night!

The Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto has married longtime girlfriend Kristin Ogata. The group posted a wedding photo on their official Facebook page yesterday with the message:

At long last, now that we have returned home and recovered from all the amazingness and had some time to bask in the afterglow, we are exited to share with you a pic or two from Beth and Kristin’s wedding! So much love and appreciation to all of our family and friends who celebrated with us! And a huge thank you to Jean Paul Gaultier for the dream-come-true dress!

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Hey, speaking of weddings, The Oxford English Dictionary, the bar-setter for defining English words, is literally changing the definition of marriage to be more inclusive to same-sex couples. As of now, the definition is: “A formal union of a man and a woman, typically as recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife.” An Oxford University Press spokesperson told Gay Star News that in light of England and Wales recently legalizing same-sex marriage, the defintion will change in the next edition of the dictionary: “We continually monitor the words in our dictionaries, paying particular to those words whose usage is shifting, so yes, this will happen with marriage.”

In more awesome news from England’s printing presses, Jane Austen will replace Charles Darwin on England and Wales’ 10-pound notes!

Jane would surely be proud that Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte Lucas from Pride and Prejudice made it into our Ultimate Femslash Madness Tournament this year.

Shay Mitchell decided to give the world a lesson in Emily Fields 101. She talks about Emily’s shyness, her relationship with Ali, and then she physically swoons into talking about Paige and Emily.

Troian Bellisario, Lucy Hale, and Ashley Benson also did 101s for their Pretty Little Liars characters over at ABCFamily.com. You should check them out because Troian is fulling wearing a Gryffindor uniform and Ashley Benson is wearing a plaid flannel button-up.

Now that the Supreme Court has struck down DOMA, New York will begin offering refunds to same-sex couples who were gouged by estate taxes because their marriages weren’t recognized at the federal level. Refunds must be claimed within three years.

Lady Gaga has supposedly announced the first single from her upcoming album ARTPOP. Gaga’s makeup artist posted a photo Tuesday night to Gaga’s social networking site. In it, Gaga is working on a painting titled “Applause” with a signature of “lady gaga 8 19 13” in the corner. August 19th is the date her new album will drop and apparently she began hinting that her first signal would be called “Applause” all the way back in January.

That’s more clues than a single season of Pretty Little Liars. You gotta work to be a Little Monster!
