Morning Brew – The Backstreet Boys put a happy lesbian couple in their video

Good morning and happy Friday!

Out model Harmony Boucher got her hair cut on camera so we can all enjoy it.

Dot Marie-Jones said she’ll be returning to Glee for its fifth season, she’s just not sure “to what extent.” Well if she keeps getting nominated for Emmys, they have to keep bringing her back. That’s a good way to keep your job: Get nominated for an Emmy about it.

Over at Huff Po, Angela Robinson was interviewed about her work as a queer filmmaker. She said she got hired on The L Word because Ilene Chaiken liked D.E.B.S and wanted a “funny lesbian” to add to the writer’s room. Now she’s the funny lesbian in True Blood‘s writer’s room.

PopMatters made a list of LGBT “Game Changers” which includes Macklemore and Casey Legler. Hey Casey, I have a game that needs changing! Think you could come over and help me out?

If you love to hate Penssatucky on Orange is the New Black, then you’ll be glad to hear Taryn Manning has been made a series regular for Season 2.

Congrats to Diana King! The out singer is now engaged to her girlfriend of seven years.

If you bought a copy of that Us Weekly special edition of Pretty Little Liars, then you might be wondering why there is a ton of the Liars and their boyfriends but no Emily and Paige. Lindsey Shaw answers best she can:

I feel like that’s a hold over from what people think they can put out on a big mainstream level. I think with all the progress we’ve made, we still have to understand it’s going to take even more. We just have to keep pushing again. It’s not fair. But its okay, we can understand it.
You might, but I don’t. Get it together, people.

The Backstreet Boys have a new video called “In a World Like This” and there is a lesbian couple celebrating marriage equality. Cute! (Thanks Sarah!)

Jane Lynch is being honored by Project Angel Food in August for her work with the organization. The actress will receive Lynch will receive the Marianne Williamson Founder’s Award “for her philanthropic leadership and advocacy on behalf of local-community based charities like Project Angel Food.” Jane said of the honor:

I couldn’t be more thrilled to be receiving this honor from the angels at Project Angel Food who are really doing God’s work.

Out comedian Candy Lawrence is hosting a benefit to help her father pay his medical bills. Check it out if you’re in Chicago.
