Afternoon Delight: Sarah Shahi is a “Person of Interest,” Tegan and Sara will perform on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”

Good afternoon everyone!

Happy birthday to Sarah Polley and Amber Benson!

Congratulations to Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow! Bigelow has been nominated for the Directors Guild of America’s top award for feature-film directing. You go girl!

Fantasia Barrino set the the record straight on her Instragram controversy. In an interview with Starpulse, Barrino said, “I am not a judgmental person and never will be. I like to see people do what they enjoy and be with the person they enjoy being with. The LGBT community has been, and still are to date, my biggest supporters. I am happy that the people in the LGBT community are now becoming legally respected and allowed to marry who they love. You should be able to spend your life with the person you want to, protect them and be protected as well… legally!”

On January 31, Tegan and Sara will perform their single “Closer” on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Today the dynamic musical duo also announced their upcoming headlining tour with The Black Keys, and if you haven’t already, remember to pre-order their “Heartthrob” album on iTunes.

Cher is returning to the small screen. Logo (AfterEllen.com’s parent company) has purchased a “non-gay themed” pilot script written by (and possibly co-starring) Cher. The series will be set in Hollywood in the 1960s and although it isn’t “gay” it’s reported to be an “adult show for everyone.” (Can’t it just be a little bit gay, for me?)

Sarah Shahi will have a recurring role on CBS drama Person of Interest as “Shaw, a fearless, sexy and witty operative in a secret paramilitary organization that tracks and eliminates terrorists before they can act.” (That clicking noise you hear is the sound of thousands of lesbians now programming their DVRs to record Person of Interest.)

EW has an exclusive photo of Scarlett Johansson performing as Maggie the Cat in Broadway’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. (This photo makes my wife very happy.)

Rumor has it there is a Hillary Clinton biopic in the works. Yes, please!

The lesbian film Chutney Popcorn is now available on iTunes, and A Perfect Ending is available to rent or own via WolfeOnDemand.com.

In case you were wondering, Clarie Danes is still totally over Jordan Catalano.
