On Monday, September 10th make sure to tune into Logo’s election special NewNowNext Vote with Wanda Sykes. Directly following Sykes’s political performance out comedian Sandra Bernhard will host an online one-hour after party chat at 11PM ET at NewNowNext.com/Vote. Commenting on her hosting spot, Bernhard says, “This is such a pivotal time for thinking, caring people. I believe we are on the precipice of total change and evolution. It’s time for us to have a real conversation about how to affect the process. I’m looking forward to that conversation, and I know you are too.”

A Catholic priest from my home state of Connecticut is in hot-water for doing a reading at his cousin’s same-sex wedding. (Same-sex marriage is legal in Connecticut.) “Father Michael DeVito, of Sacred Heart Church in Suffield, was called into the office of Hartford Archbishop Henry Mansell and ‘formally rebuked’ after a wedding announcement in The New York Times mentioned that the clergyman took part in the August 17 nuptials of Roger Danforth and Richard Termine. The citation would go on DeVito’s permanent record in accordance with canon law, but the archdiocese would not disclose what the cleric’s punishment would be.” Sadly, DeVito responded by stating he would “refrain for participating in any way in same-sex marriages in the future.”
