Afternoon Delight: JCPenney’s gay Father’s Day ad, a first look at Chloë Sevigny in “Hit & Miss”

Good afternoon and happy June! If you live in an apartment (like I do) then rent is due, bitches! Sorry for the strong language, I get very excited on Fridays.

Happy birthday to Heidi Klum, Brandi Carlile and Alanis Morissette! Remember when Morissette played spin the bottle with Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex in the City? Good times.

Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron were all sparkles and smiles at last night’s Prometheus premiere in London.

Get ready for the new series Hit & Miss, starring Chloë Sevigny (If These Walls Could Talk 2, Boys Don’t Cry) as a transgender contract killer. Hit & Miss “follows Sevigny as Mia, a contract killer with a secret: She’s a transgender woman. Mia’s life is sent into a tailspin when she receives a letter from an ex-girlfriend dying from cancer revealing that Mia fathered a son eleven years ago. Faced with a difficult decision, Mia becomes the guardian to a new family forcing her to mix her killer instincts with her newly developing maternal instincts.” Hit & Miss premieres July 11 exclusively on DIRECTV. Watch the show’s teaser trailer below and let me know your thoughts. I have a feeling this series is going to be awesome.

Last night out comedian Fortune Feimster did a stellar job hosting Chelsea Lately. If you missed Feimster’s talk show hosting debut check out the below clip.

Out director Anna Margarita Albelo needs your help! Albelo is finishing her latest film I’m Afraid of Virginia Wolf and is looking for an avid editor, a webmaster, music supervisor, associate producers and a director/producer’s assistant. If you live in Los Angeles and you’re interested in working on this lezzy project starring Janina Gavankar (The L Word, True Blood) and Guinevere Turner (The L Word, Go Fish) contact [email protected].

Today Snow White and the Huntsman was released in theaters in the U.S. I have already purchased my tickets and if you’re on the fence about seeing this epic film, take a gander at Kristen Stewart’s gams and sexy librarian attire on the red carpet at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. Stewart is a sexy librarian sans glasses because maybe this librarian has good eyesight.

Oliver Alaska Moonchild is a poet, model and an inspiring reality TV star. Moonchild is looking for financial backers to help create a new series focusing on being trans in the world of fashion. To learn more go to Moonchild’s indiegogo page.

Lately it’s all the rage to be a gay superhero. DC comics has announced that their character Green Lantern (the OG Green Lantern Alan Scott not Hal Jordan) is a man-loving-man in the new Earth Two comic-book series. I wonder if Green Lantern dated Northstar in college.

Nurse Jackie‘s Edie Falco is set to host the “Performance for the Animals” on Thursday, June 7 at the City Winery in New York. The second annual benefit will aid the NYC shelter Animal Haven, a non profit organization that provides homes for abandoned cats and dogs. My dogs Taffy Davenport and Francine Fishpaw want to attend this star-studded event, but they’re grounded for chasing my cat Shelby around the house.

Tomorrow night my wife’s band Tiger Mouth will be rocking out at the Liberty Arts Gallery in Long Beach, CA. The event celebrates queer artists (myself included) and will have snacks and psychics. Snacks, psychics and hot chicks with guitars, I mean, c’mon, what more could you ask for? The party runs from 5 pm to 9 pm and Tiger Mouth takes the stage at 7 p.m.

TV Journalist and author Jane Velez-Mitchell gave her two cents on Justin Bieber‘s recent run-in with the paparazzi. I agree with JVM, violence is never the answer, although I have personally watched a gaggle of photographers climb on Britney Spears’s car in Beverly Hills while she was trying to make a u-turn and some of those camera people are ruthless. There needs to be a law in place that forces them to stay three feet away from their “muses” at all times.

Actress Sheetal Sheth (I Can’t Think Straight) shared some gay-rific of news on Twitter.

JC Penney puts 2 dads in their new ad. Love it. gawker.com/5914527/jcpenn…

On Sunday, June 3 lesbian comedian Cathy Lewis and I will be performing at the Comedy Union (5040 W. Pico Blvd) in Los Angeles for the Alternative Comedy Night. And no I will not be going to the after-party that runs until 2 a.m. because it’s a school night.

Video of the Day!

It seems like the True Blood camp wants to feed us a daily dose of Anna Paquin. Who am I to complain? Paquin’s Sookie Stackhouse talks death and danger in the below clip. Why doesn’t the cast of TB just move out of Bon Temps? It’s obviously too dangerous to live there.
