Good morning, Brewbies! While President Obama has been making a big gay publicity swoop of the nation this week, Newsweek released six alternate versions of their “First Gay President” cover.

The one of him holding the two-dudes wedding cake topper is my favorite.
Comic book megasite Newsarama posted a countdown of their ten favorite LGBT superheroes and couples, and I’m actually pretty impressed with their choices. These things usually lean all-male, but the folks at Newsarma included Renee Montoya’s The Question, Top Cow’s Danielle Baptiste, Karolina Dean and Xavin, and, of course, Kate Kane’s Batwoman. The list is finely timed, too, what with the President Obama thing, and the fact that Batwoman #9 hits shelves today!

Some devastating news out of South Africa: Lesbian photographer Zanele Muholi had over 20 external hard drives of her life’s work stolen from her home in Cape Town. Muholi has spent the last several years documenting the lives of black lesbians — including the funerals of those who died of hate crimes — for the public. According to Diva magazine:
You can find how to donate to Zanele’s Equipment Replacement Campaign at indiegogo.

On a happier note, Japan’s Magic Kingdom — the Disney one — is getting set to host its first same-sex marriage. About her “Disney Dream Wedding,” which includes attendance by Disney characters and the use of Tokyo Disney’s Cinderella Castle, Koyuki Higashi told Reuters:
But a week later, the resort called back and told the lesbian brides to wear whatever they’d like, saying they would never refuse a request for same-sex marriage. Luckily, I already know my wedding venue of choice, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, is pro-homo. (Thanks, Dumbledore!)
A happiest of happy Wednesdays to you!
