Question: Probably about a year ago AE mentioned a pilot/film about a diverse group of people in LA including Guinevere Turner as an intersex woman in a lesbian relationship called Don't Go. While Don't Go still has a website it doesn't mention is it will continue with the show online or on Logo, if it's making a DVD or any other information about how and where someone can see the pilot, or if there are more episodes those. Have you guys heard anything? ― Sheila J
Amber Sharp, creator of Don't Go Answer: I tracked down series creator Amber Sharp and asked her for an update on Don't Go and her other upcoming projects. This is what she had to say:
This is very encouraging news, as I had begun to think that there was an actual shortage of lesbian drama (in the realm of pop culture, that is). Question: I'm particularly interested in the film Leadcatcher directed by M.T Sheridan. But as per IMDb.com, it is still in post production. Can you let me know an approximate date of release in DVD? ― Gloria, Barcelona, Spain
Nicole Vicius Answer: For those of you who haven't been following the film, Leadcatcher is a movie about superheroes who have turned in their capes and masks for real jobs but then come out of retirement to protect one of their own. The film stars Eric Jensen, Itty Bitty Titty Committee's Nicole Vicius, and Anna Maria Alberghetti, of salad dressing fame (look it up)! I contacted the production company and was told that Leadcatcher should be released on DVD this fall. For those of you interested in superheroes, science fiction, and other topics of that ilk, you'll be pleased to learn that at the Comic-Con International annual fan convention in San Diego this month (July 23-26) there will be a couple of panels devoted to the representation of LGBT people in comics. Those include "True Confessions: LGBT Slice-of-Life Comics," with panelists Lee Marrs (The Further Fattening Adventures of Pudge, Girl Blimp) and Ariel Schrag (Likewise), and the long-running "Gays in Comics" panel, featuring "top-level gay or gay-friendly creators" from mainstream and independent companies. For more information on these (and other) panels, check out the Comic-Con website. |
