KIM DEPARTS TOP MODEL
In my post-Thanksgiving haze last week, I forgot to mention that openly gay contestant Kim had been eliminated from America's Next Top Model (look for our interview with her on AfterEllen.com next week).

While it's too bad (but not surprising) that Kim won't be crowned America's Next Top Model, we still have Nik in the running...meanwhile, cheer yourself up with our Fake Gay News story about UPN developing an all-lesbian version of Top Model, which promises to be "even gayer than the original!"

THERE'S GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS...
First, the good: the spoiler folks at both TV Guide and E! Online are hinting that Michelle Rodriguez's character on the popular ABC series Lost may soon be revealed to be gay. Many fans are wondering how this could be possible when Ana Lucia clearly referred to her former lover Danny (Danni?) as a "he" in a recent flashback. But throw a rock in a crowded lesbian bar, and you'll be hard-pressed not to hit a lesbian who hasn't at some point in her life played the pronoun-switching game. Especially in the workplace. So I don't think Ana Lucia's past comments rule out her being gay--but the bigger question is, do we even want a lesbian character who spends most of her time on-screen snarling, shooting, and reinforcing a few of the more negative lesbian stereotypes?

Eh, who am I kidding: we'll take whatever we can get at this point.

If Michelle...er, Ana Lucia is revealed to be gay, will she hook up with Kate? Probably not, but that would be a great way to spice up that tired Kate-Sawyer-Jack triangle!

Now, the bad news. Despite previous speculation, it appears that Alias's Rachel Gibson is not gay: next week she hooks up with--gasp!--a guy. Sad, but true.

SUNDANCE 2006
The lineup for the 2006 Sundance Film Festival was announced this week, and films of interest to lesbians include Maria Maggenti's Puccini for Beginners, about a woman dating a man and a woman at the same time, and the documentary All Aboard! Rosie's Family Cruise, about the maiden voyage of the cruise line run by Rosie and Kellie O'Donnell for gay and lesbian families.

Openly bisexual actress/director Joey Lauren Adams (Chasing Amy) also has a feature film in competition--Come Early Morning, starring Ashley Judd--but there doesn't appear to be any actual GLBT content in the film.

DAYTIME TV ALERT
Daytime's favorite lesbian is coming back to All My Children for the holidays. Actress Eden Riegel has agreed to reprise her ground-breaking role and return to Pine Valley for December and January as part of storyline revolving around her character's sister, Kendall. Bianca left Pine Valley with girl/friend Maggie earlier this year, and although she's returning alone, she may be bringing news of a romance in Paris. Who's the likely girlfriend? If it's not Maggie, my money's on Passions's resident lesbian Simone, because TV execs are just like other straight people: always trying to set you up with the only other lesbian they know...
