“Chuck” is looking for a hot older woman

We have to bide our time for few more weeks waiting for the final season of Chuck to begin, but NBC is dropping crumbs of news along the way to keep us occupied. The latest concerns our favorite cast member, Agent Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski).

According to TVLine, casting is in progress for Sarah’s mom. After meeting her dad Jack (Gary Cole), we’re pretty sure that the hotness genes came from her mother’s side of the family. That makes playing the casting game an excuse to look at hot women. (As if we needed one.)

First, I think we need to really study Sarah Walker: the creamy, soft skin; the perfectly proportioned nose; the sparkling blue eyes; the full, luscious lips; the way her neck curves into her shoulder to guide our eyes down …

Uh, what were we talking about again?

Oh, yeah. Sarah’s mom. The casting sides describe the character and a kind, sweet woman – “a beautiful blonde who is, in essence, a walking hug.” Assuming that Sarah is in her mid to late 20s, we’d need an actress who’s in her 50s, at least.

TVLine suggests Carrie Fisher, Rene Russo, Cheryl Ladd, Sigourney Weaver and Lynda Carter. All of these women are awesome, of course, and the thought of a blonde Weaver with Strahovski lounging around in tank tops for some mother/daughter time makes me slightly giddy.

And all of the suggestions have geek cred, which is a hallmark of Chuck casting. But I can’t quite buy any of those women as Sarah’s mom.

Quite a few Chuck fan forum posters suggest former Mod Squad groovy chick Peggy Lipton (aka Rashida Jones‘ mom).

Lipton is an inspired choice. We haven’t seen her much since her recovery from colon cancer, but she looks fabulous and this would be a wonderful call back to one of TV’s early kick-ass woman characters.

Another inspired choice from the internet: Sharon Stone.

Stone loves to camp it up and certainly has kept her guns at the ready for a part such as this. And I’m always happy to see one of our allies onscreen.

But the most inspired choice for Chuck’s mother-in-law, in my very humble opinion, is my own.

I have no idea if Michelle Pfeiffer would even be interested in the role. But she’s smart, funny and, at 53, could rock a leather outfit as well as her onscreen daughter. The only problem I see is that if Pfeiffer and Strahovski were in a scene together, my head might explode.

On the other hand, what a way to go.

Who do you think should play Sarah’s mom?
