Exclusive: Backstage with ‘But She Is My Student’ Actress Chloe Astleford

AfterEllen had the chance to snag a few exclusive backstage interviews with the cast of ‘But She Is My Student,’ a lesbian drama currently in production that is based on Kiki Archer’s best-selling debut novel.

Our second exclusive cast interview comes from the gorgeous Chloe Astleford who plays the eighteen-year-old student at the center of the love story, Freya Elton. (You can check out our first exclusive with Shanika Ocean HERE). 

Chloe is a British actress originally from Lincolnshire but now living in London. Her acting career started when she began training at Drama Centre London; completing the foundation course in acting. Since graduating she has played the Devil in a touring production of The Soldier’s Tale that went to both Dartington and Presteigne International Music Festivals. She has performed in the SLAM festival at the Arcola theatre as well as SLAM Theatre Kings Cross.

Chloe has also spent a great deal of time working in Spain as a lead vocalist in numerous production shows. While training, she participated in the Open Stages project at The Royal Albert Hall as well as playing the role of Megan in Student Guide to Being a Student at the Platform Theatre.

She says she’s so excited to be playing the role of Freya in ‘But She Is My Student’. Join us backstage at She Bar Soho where author Kiki Archer asks Chloe (Freya) some surprise questions about her character in the film. Then click to page 2 for an excerpt from the novel.
