Morning Brew – Kate McKinnon gets asked to choose between Ellen and Hillary Clinton

Good morning!

Since it’s Hump Day, let’s start with Maxim’s post about why women are sexually fluid. Actual paragraph:

The theory states that during a prior polygamous era (which was a looong time ago), co-wives would get handsy with one another in order to reduce the tension and conflict that arose from sharing a husband. So basically, the idea was, “If you can’t beat ’em, fuck ’em,” and all the wives just had sex with each other and became friends. Hey, if it worked, it worked. Kudos to them for getting past jealousy.

A really bizarre headline: The New Face of Women’s U.S. Soccer is Not Lesbian.

Raven-SymonĂ© shares how she thought she might never be able to come out with It Got Better. This is the most open she’s ever been on the topic of her being in the closet and her identity. Pretty interesting!

People asked Ilene Chaiken about killing lesbians on TV.

Tegan and Sara had a chat with the Windy City Times. Choice quote:

“Our girlfriends are very different, and we always dated very different people. We have different tastes in women. The person I’m dating is a total babe. I constantly find myself out and I’ll see her but don’t know its[sic] her, and check her out and be, like, ‘Oh my god-that’s the girl I’m dating!’ And I think Sara’s partner is wonderful, she’s a total babe and so smart and so ambitious and hilarious. But we both date pretty private people. That’s the price to pay for dating Tegan or Sara. You’ve got to lock down your life. Our fans are hungry for details and we’ve been hacked a few times and had breaches of privacy. When you enter our closed circle, even the people who work for us, it’s like, ‘OK-everything goes private. You can’t post anything about where we are or what we’re doing, no photos of us with you.’ It’s not that fun, honestly. We’re not a good time.”

Is there a lesbian couple in Finding Dory? Sure looks like it in this brief moment around 1:05.

The Portsmouth Public Library is looking for book recommendations “that influenced your self-discovery and self-acceptance as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or an ally” for a community display in conjunction with the Seacoast NH LGBT History Project.

The Ghostbusters cast are on Ellen today and they play a supercharged game of Heads Up.

And Kate McKinnon was forced to choose between Ellen and Hillary Clinton, which is cruel to do to any lesbian.
