TV is so hard this time of year. I want to watch every single new show so I can decide which ones suck before the rest of the world catches on. Impossible, of course.
Now Bravo has made this week’s TV choices even harder, with two must-see shows featuring two of my favorite funny ladies.
Tonight at 8 p.m. ET, Inside the Actors Studio features the ubiquitous Betty White.
White’s career has spanned 70 years, but we tend to think of her either as Sue Ann Nivens from The Mary Tyler Moore Show or Rose Nylund from Golden Girls. According to the Bravo release, White “dishes on everything from her costars on The Golden Girls to the improbable Facebook campaign that landed her the coveted role as host, and subsequently her latest golden statue, on Saturday Night Live.”
Here’s a clip of James Lipton asking Betty about her experience on SNL.
I can’t wait to find out her favorite swear word.
Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, the lovely and talented Tina Fey joins Andy Cohen for Watch What Happens: Live.
This is a new one to me, but it’s the third season of the show, described as “Bravo’s first-ever late night, interactive, weekly talk show featuring guests from the world of entertainment, politics and pop culture.” Andy and the guest talk about whatever is going on in entertainment, plus they take viewer questions and live calls and then, well, watch what happens. Past guests: Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel Dratch, Barney Frank – how have I missed this show?
Bravo repeats its shows several times, so if you miss the first airing, check the website for other airings. Will you tune in?
