I CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT, EITHER
Filmmaker and author Shamim Sarif, who brought us the beautiful film The World Unseen, has been hard at work on yet another lesbian movie featuring women of color, I Can't Think Straight.

According to the the film's website, the movie focuses on Tala (Lisa Ray), a "London-based Jordanian of Palestinian origin" who is getting ready for "an elaborate wedding with her Jordanian fiancé, when she encounters Leyla, a young British Indian woman who is dating her best friend Ali." Tala and Leyla (Sheetal Sheth) are opposites, which mean, of course, they attract.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
Jane Lynch was recently spotted at IKEA shooting the Ileana Douglas web series Easy to Assemble, which will premiere in September.

Margot Kidder, best known for playing Lois Lane in the Christopher Reeves version of Superman, plays a lesbian in the next installment of here! Networks' Donald Strachey mystery series, On the Other Hand, Death, which premieres tomorrow night and airs throughout August. Check out AfterElton.com's review of the movie.

Am I the only person left shaking her head at this? I mean, I haven't been a fan of hers since I was in middle school and watched reruns of "Saved by the Bell." Her acting is, IMHO, extremely lacking.

Im not really bothered about EB being on the show as such, it's just annoying that they've chosen to throw up yet another character to potentially interfere with the Tina/Bette storyline. I just hope that they don't go down the "I'm so tortured and conflicted, I want to sleep with her and her and her but I DO love you" road again with Bette. Getting a little boring!

My hope was that they would nicely resolve everything with Tina and Bette in the last season. Finding this out makes me doubt that I'm going to get my "happily ever after" that I was wanting. For me though, it just adds insult to injury when they get EB to play the actress...but maybe that's the whole point...getting a not-so-good actress will make it easier for all of us to hate the character and continue to root for Tina and Bette.

I don't think her acting is bad. Can't base it off of Saved by the Bell (bad writing and direction) that show was what it was basically for preteens not a lot of effort needs to be put in for preteens, the simplier the better.

You see EB in Rodger Dodger she was great. She can act. Besides could she be any more worse than Daniella Sea (Max) -- yeah I said it.

Both "I Can't Think Straight" and "The World Unseen" were fantastic movies. I saw I Can't Think Striaght twice and have watched many of the clips on youtube. Can't wait for the DVD. I've even added it to my Netflix queue. Did I like this movie or what? Yeah, just a little. I can't get enough of these 2 actresses. They are fantastic together. Shamim Sarif is an incredible writer.

thank you so much for featuring Britain's missing top model. even though i am disabled, i have never heard of it, but found it online just now and i will watch soon. i wish there was such a show in the US but...anyway...it is so nice to see girls with disabilities on tv.

Now just to make it perfect they just need Buffy (SMG) to guest star in that particular episode. Can't wait, looks like its gonna be an amazing show.

I didn't expect Britain's Missing Top Model to get a mention here. I like the show but i was gutted Kelly Moody went. Sophie has been pissin me off for weeks saying the deaf girls couldn't be role models because they don't have a "visible disability" and her arguement with Jess last episode was uncalled for.

The movie " I can't think straight"...bits and pieces, reflect a portion of what i am currently experiencing...so it would be interesting to see the full version ASAP...thanks for the heads up...As for the lack of mention of Estelle Getty...maybe the BLWE, may have already been formatted and set to be posted, by the time the news reached the editors...Bless her soul...Hope she is in peace and happy, now that she is free of the dementia spoken of in her memorial articles. Also, am sad to hear of Kate Reider posthumously. The brief video doesn't quite showcase her vocals talents well, but it beautifully did display her courage and spirit. Please pass along my sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.

lastly, what is the L word thinking??? I agree with an earlier blogger's posting stating Elizabeth's lack of acting ability. I agree...I think her only talent is the ability to be eye candy. As the article did point out, Jennifer and Elizabeth are friends, so....

i'm sorry that i may just get a bit vulgar here...i haven't even read the whole write-up on this but as soon as i saw the bitch's name/photo i almost hurled my breakfast! really....W T F are the writers thinking???? ESPECIALLY for the last L Word season???????? this chick makes my skin crawl, even when i watched SBTB with my kids (yeah, i actually didn't mind that cheesy show)....recently i also saw her on a couple of CSI Miami episodes and i was so disgusted and let's not even go to that flop of a movie she was in....there is something so revolting about her but i've never been able to quite explain it nor place the reason why she brings out all this anger in me. i am SO freakin' disappointed and pissed, i don't even look forward to their last season now...holy sh*t.

I'm so revolted by the thought of her in several episodes, when there will only be 6, is almost enough to make me rethink even watching the last season of the L word. What were they thinking? Oh, yeah, she's a friend of JB's - that's the only reason I can think of.

upon reading the news about the addition of EB to cast of the L word, i will just pretend that season 5 was the final season. i do not want to see her on screen w/ Jennifer Beals. i can't imagine the pool of actresses IC had to pick from and she came up with that??

I am so excited for Dollhouse and I Can't Think Straight! I think the series and the movie are going to be great (especially with Joss Whedon behind Dollhouse). And being the hardcore ANTM fan that I am, I am especially excited to see this mystery woman!

I don't think the L Word castings would bother me so much if there weren't only 8 episodes in the final season..... Or if IC didn't FINALLY have Bette and Tina reunite after all this time. Had it had the regular 12/13 episodes of seasons past, I probably wouldn't be so bothered by the number of guests returning/newcomers, especially when some of them really aren't that needed (Papi? REALLY?).

I have to see this movie, Lisa Ray is gorgeous. And she was on Blood Ties, too, with my favourite Canadian girl, Christina Cox. I keep wanting to re-write that episode with a lesbian twist instead, they had lots of chemistry.

Elizabeth Berkley; been a fan since her "Saved" days...Though, like other members here; none too thrilled with the pairing with Bette...The whole Tina/Bette thing...So done with it.

Sheetal Sheth is such a beautiful actress...This new movie of her's should be sweet...It looks sweet, doesn't it?

Some fears going with "Dollhouse"...Heard that they just shot the pilot over; so, we won't be seeing the original version...And, that's also caused a change in the series' episode line-up as well...Sigh.

Do we really need more TiBette Drama? Can't Ilene Chaiken show two people in a normal, happy, stable relationship for once? I really hope the "mystery" component doesn't come down to whom Bette will choose in the end. And I agree with the others. EB isn't even that good an actress.

I can't think straight looks wonderful. "But I've only been gone for two hours". The only thing bugging me is Sheetal Sheth's accent. It just sounds... odd.

I am looking forward to watching Dollhouse because Joss Whedon does such a great job with any show he is involved in and I know he will create storylines that all of us can identify with - he is a genius. And what can we say about Eliza - she rocks. With that said I cannot say I am ready to see Elizabeth on the The L Word. There is just something about her that bothers me (it has always been this way) I just cannot put my finger on it - I am just glad she is only on for a few episodes. Very sad news about Katie Reider - to short of a life for such a talented person. My heart goes out to her partner and family.

I CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT AFTER WATCHING THE TRAILER NUMEROUS TIMES!thats hot!!! i think is going to be a fantastic movie,, keep us updated cause im sure looking forward to see it.. I would rather like to see tila tequila on the l word than EB,,heck no!!im just kidding, well,i cant imagine what the plan is as far as this story line in only 8 episodes??? ok,, maybe Chaiken can do what ever she wants in this last season,, for me everything will be tolerated as long as she brings ERIN DANIELS BACK!then i will be ready to rest in peace!u hear that Chaiken??!!The only thing that comes to mind is that Chaiken is trying to make some of us identify with the story line,, typical lesbo who sometimes tends to fall for the straight girl in college and yada yada yada!!it happend to me so i think it will be interesting to see what happens afterwards,, does the straight girl realizes that she has been gay the whole time and was also in love with her bestfriend but was scared and ran away? yeah,, i think i already know what the deal is.

Katie Reider was awesome. I was lucky enough to get to see per perform once, though I hadn't keep up with her career. My girlfriend told me that she'd passed away. 'tis sad.
