Gimme Sugar: Episode 2

Trish Bendix

In this week's episode of Logo's new reality series, the girls battle it out between the name Blush and Sugar for their new club night (guess which one wins?).

And after a discouraging meeting with Charlene's bosses at Truck Stop, Alex is even more determined to get a Saturday event going for Los Angeles lesbians. The first step is a fundraiser: a sexy carwash.

And of course, more drama ensues. Even the new girl, Sayeh, is pulled into it, and it's her first night ever at a gay club. Talk about first impressions!

These girls are stupid but it's hilarious. So a guy enjoys a girl on girl water fight....as do I :) Davonee is no good, that's been established. All the girls heads would have exploded had they seen the dude Alex brought home.

The best thing about this episode was definitely Brittenelle. HOT HOT HOT!

I hate when ex's react the way Bathilda did. Neither Brittenelle nor Sayah(?) have to answer for anything.

Best/dumbest quote: "I don't like Asians!" "She doesn't like Asians!"... "How was I supposed to know that you didn't like Asians? I don't know dat!" HAHAHA!

Sayah(?) is by far my favorite character/cast member because I can relate to her the most. Shy and new to the scene, I'm glad she kinda flirted back with Brittenelle!

ill endure this show to see more of brit. she is hot and has a great smile. haha.. hmm im curious though what she saw in bathilda? and hmm why did they break up?

yeah that's right i could care less about the club thing or the davonee drama. it's all about brit! XD oh i do hope she doesn't turn out to be shallow and brainless.

and i'm completely torn about some of the exchanges that happened. i don't know if i should roll my eyes and laugh at the dumbness or get kinda pissed about some of the comments that reinforced some negative stereotypes - the "I don't like asians" drama and Alex's "gaggle of angry lesbians"

Totally agree, Brittenelle is sooo Hot!! She was the highlight of the episode. :)

omg, i felt like i'm a glutton for punishment as i spent another 20+ minutes watching this show. but britenelle totally made it worth it. she's SO.FREAKING.HOT.

if she comes back next week, i might keep watching. seriously, SO.HOT.

other than that, i'm embarassed to have watched this.

For actually having any interest in this show, lol. I guess I'm a no drama girl, but I love watching it. Robin is so annoying though. And that Brit chick was fiinee, so if we see more of her, it's not a lost cause.

this show is so obviously not real. the scripting is horrible. The main girls have been scripted to be ditzy,bad friends. Alex was lying to charlene for what seemed like no reason. Robyn was purposely trying to create drama for Bathilda. Alex kissing a guy was the longest scene in the whole show. I'm still waiting for something real to happen. They haven't even shown why these girls are friends or any bonding. The scene between Charlene and Devonee was so fake and forced. I hope this show gets better than friends being crappy to each and trying to show skin because there is not much else for lesbian reality tv. Don't even bring up Tila.

I 100% agree with you. None of this seems real at all. Everything is horribly scripted and forced. Do any of them have a brain? At all? They're the worst actresses. Ever. At being "themselves".

The only reason I'll watch the next episode is my wishful thinking that Brit will show up again. Now THAT'S a hot dyke. And not a complete idiot.

I agree. It's completely fake. For example, when Brit and Bathilda go outside the club to argue, Brit is wearing a different shirt than she had on inside the club. And I don't buy that any of these girls were friends in real life or even knew each other before the show; they were probably cast because they're good-looking and like to go clubbing.

Sooo after watching last week's episode the only reason I clicked on the link today was because I knew they were gonna be in swimsuits.

I feel slightly ashamed about that but hey, I work at a law firm all day and I don't have a significant other right now so don't judge me.

Well, like most reality TV, it is scripted but these girls are actual friends...there's dozens of clips of them on youtube at Truck Stop causing confusion. Robin seems like a sh*t starter, regardless if a camera is there or not.

This episode was definately better than the first episode they seemed a lil more real in this one like goofin off at the house and stuff but it still has alot of fakeness..but i will stick with watchin i mean there are a couple hot girls on there and plus i have nothin else to do haha

Haha yeah I do see where you're coming from, I mean I haven't gone out with any Asian girls either and me and my friends always joke about how there are all the Asian girls dating White guys. What I meant to say from the "dumb justification" was the fact that Djosefin (just me or does everyone on this show have an exotically spelled name) thought Bathilda and Davonee were hooking up, and their reason wasn't that they were really good friends, but that they were both Asian and they're not into Asians.

I think (yes, very cliche) that anyone can hook up with anyone regardless of race... I mean they might regret it later but doesn't change the fact that they hook up and they're both Azn!

Wow! Brit is sooo SEXY! The best thing comes out of the episode (and possibly of the series). She needs to come back!!!

Hmm, doesn't Djosefin know Bathilda is Davonee's friend? The group is so close-knit and seems to have been hanging around for a while. That "I don't like Asians" justification is silly and unnecessary. She could just have said that they were friends, duh!

Charlene annoys me with another "gross" comment on Alex dating a guy. But then the guy is kind of a sleaze so that comment regarding just him isn't wrong.

I prefer the name Blush to Sugar. It sounds cute yet a bit naughty :D

Bethilda is blocking. Sayeh seems like a calm lady and if she isn't over Britinelle she should be honest and try to work things out. I can't stand when people say they're over someone and then acts jealous when the other person has moved on.

Maybe it's the editing, the series portrays the ladies as being clueless new businesswomen. I don't understand how they are having a fundraiser without even mentioning how much money they need. And what about applying for loans? I'm sure this could have been a way to teach the audience how to start their own club, as in what procedures to take, how mixing business and friendship can be conflicting, competitors, etc. This could have been more educative and less superficial. I thought that was what I'd be getting based on the promo clip.

These girls have no experience what so ever and have no idea of what they are getting themselves into. I think the owners of the Truck Stop are right. I don't see their plan succeed. BTW, Alex reminds me a lot of Sandra Bullock...or am I the only one who sees that?

...I ithink some ppl take this show too serious... ¡¡¡it' not competing for the daytime Emmys!!! ... It's as fake as any other "reality show" on the air but I must say I find it quite funny... all the fake drama about the ex, the bi gal hooking up with a guy, the best friend "keeping secrets", the bitchy gossipy girl, etc. it is really entertaining...and it's pretty much all I want from these people...

...anyways...Sayeh...really really cute...and looking forward to see Brittenelle making another apearance... she's hot!!!

i'm enjoying gimme sugar though. guilty pleasure. stylistically it's like the hills - shallow, partially scripted, ridiculously fake and engineered. i can relate to it slightly more than the hills because with the hills the only thing i had in common was age; with these girls, i'm the same age and also love gay clubs. plus, a seemingly rational, 3-dimensional bisexual? on tv? that's rarer than a freaking unicorn. i like charlene as well, as the kind of LC character the audience can identify with yet who, confusingly, hangs out with idiots. (i guess bathilda and davonee are gimme sugar's versions of heidi and audrina?)

speaking of them, i wish someone would slap, or just edit out, davonee and her idiotic girlfriend. davonee's girlfriend (mercifully, i don't remember her name) is by far the worst part of the show. is her IQ 70 or am i being too generous?
