Indigo Girl Amy Ray and singer/songwriter Jennifer O'Connor are both amazing artists — and they both happen to be "out." They toured around the U.S. this past fall and winter, doing many shows together, and some apart.

Along the way, NewNowNext snagged them for a quick interview, letting these two authentic, talented, integrity-driven performers talk about making music, addressing queerness in their work, and surviving life on the road.

    This was so great!  I'd heard of Jennifer O'Connor for a few years because she's on Matador Records (a few of my other favorite bands are on the label), but didn't actually hear any of her music until last year, and immediately fell in love with it.  And it's so great that she's so out.  Everyone pick up her "Here With Me" CD!
