This week, Olive and Hanifah talk about Reverend Warren and review some of the best U People stories.
They will be taking a break from vlogging next week, but you can watch a new live episode on New Year's Day at Live With U People. U People will return on AfterEllen.com the following weekend.

lawd, Barack! Come on nah ...
I must admit. I was quite disappointed when I found that Barack had chosen Rick "Hate-the-Gays-And-Womens'-Right-To-Choose" Warren to deliver the invocation at his inaugural ceremony. I got a lil' nervous. I won't lie. But as my panties got all bunched and knotted up ... I thought of two things.
#1. Before Barack decided to make a run for the White House, he and Michelle were on Oprah. I think it was soon after the Democratic National Convention. Anyway. Michelle made a comment in reference to the throngs of supporters he'd acquired since that famous speech. She said "You know ... we'll see how people truly feel about Barack when he's put in a place where he will have to compromise and make unpopular decisions." (Not a direct quote) That idea stuck with me. Because as you guys pointed out. He has never claimed to be "Far Left Liberal" I think we made him out to be that because, for once, we had a candidate that was willing to acknowledge that we exist and care about our country. So yes ... Barry made an unpopular choice in my opinion. But I still support him 150%.
#2. He has always called on us as Americans to "learning to agree to disagree without becoming disagreeable." This is a perfect example of this theory put into action. While Rick Warren and Barack Obama may have very little in common ... they have obviously come to a place where they can unify on Jan. 20th and usher in an era of change.
ok. thas my opinion on that.

I'm so happy you ladies talked about Obama's pick of Rev. Rick Warren. Obama needs to be seen as an equal oportunitst. I know the LGBTQI community wants him lean to one side. He cannot. He will not. He is guided by the Divine. I don't know who Rick Warren is. I heard about him. I cannot judge him. I have no opinion of him.
Shout out to you and olive about the new format. One thursday I will call in. I'm glad you started a goal. I'm elated your film will come out on my birthday Feb 7th. Happy B-day Olive just in case I missed. Thanks for taking us back to memory lane about the upeople stories.
