We thank Upeople!

Great discussion - Olive, I loved your vibrator analogy!
Considering why lesbians go after heterosexual women - I'd offer that perhaps they do it for the challenge aspect. Also, perhaps the performance angle - they don't have to 'do' as much?!? ;-) And honestly, lets not forget that some straight women who are attention starved, send those mixed and flirtatious signals to encourage the interest...

I don't believe that a heterosexual woman can have a lesbian 'sabbatical'! In my eyes, that would be bisexual - just because you're bi doesn't mean you have to be attracted to every woman you meet, nor every man! I mean as a lesbian woman, I'm absolutely not attracted to every woman I meet just because she has breasts and a vagina - just not happening!

I have to admit that in my coming out process, I used to believe that bisexuality was just the road to homosexuality. At least, perhaps that was the case for me! But I don't believe that anymore, because although its not my journey, there are those who have earnestly described how they are gender neutral - even though I have a hard time thinking that a woman who can choose would not choose a woman!!!??! ;-)

In terms of being gay because of not liking men - thats an old tired stereotype that is just generally not  true - and as you described, many straight women describe some men as dogs, jerks, dodo's, <fill in your 'word' of choice here>! I'm sure gay men would also have some thoughts on that too!

I really appreciate my male and female hetero friends - its such a straight-forward relationship(no pun intended) - no confusion, no chances, just assured friendships! I think that kind of friendship is akin to why a lot of hetero women like gay men...of course there will always be those who feel they can 'convert' you, but that just comes with the territory!

All your hard work is much appreciated - bringing visibility to our lives the way you do! Thank you for Upeople.

Love never loses its way home. Remember...its about the journey, not the destination

I'm happy to say that

I've NEVER dated a straight woman.  I've had crushes, but, once I know for sure that a woman is straight, my crush ends immediately.

I'm looking forward to seeing your revamped website.
