TV Alert: Tyra talks lesbian weddings on today's show

Love her or hate her, Tyra Banks is a friend of the gays. She's given many a lesbian a chance to make out with fellow contestants on Top Model, and yesterday, she presented transgender model Isis with gender reassignment surgery. She's also provided Mr. and Ms. Jay with jobs for years.

On today's show, titled "Don't Ruin My Gay Wedding," Tyra will be talking with a lesbian couple who want to get married, but are upset that one side of the family doesn't want to attend the wedding. Will Tyra be able to say anything in their favor? Will they at least be happy they got the free trip to NYC? Or will they just come off as unloving parents who are completely homophobic? (Something tells me the latter is inevitable. It is television, after all.)

From the looks of it, the show concludes with the ceremony, and the couple waiting to see if the family shows. I hope it's a happy ending.

The Tyra Banks Show airs on CW at 5 p.m. EST.

    Wouldn't this have been much more constructive, and a tiny bit less tacky, three weeks ago before the Electorial and Props votes??

    With Tyra at the helm, this could be interesting to say the least.

    I am home sick today so I admit... I watched it.

    It was pretty good... for day time tv... She took the standard unconditional love from mom angle along with noting the hypocracy of christians who scorn gay people but look past so many other since people in their own churches commit every day.

    I want to try out the show just for the chance to hit on her...

    She was looking particularly fierce with her hair up in a bun, the grey and black little dress and earrings.  At times I was distracted by how gorgeous she looked.

    I thought Tyra did a good job of reaching out to the mother to get her to open up her heart a little more.  She cracked me up when she told the mother she had about two minutes to make up her mind, because the show was about to end.

    she is so gay friendly. i liked when she scolded one of the girls one season that admitted to being homophobic.

    i do get a bit of a vibe from Tyra (prolly wishful thinkin) she made a comment one cycle where she said summat about when she goes to bed and thinks about the girls (the contestants) which made me and my friends burst out laughin coz we have dirty minds and a childish sense of humour. it was also funny when mckey picked her up she seemed quite shocked but also seemed like she quite enjoyed it. lol

    the wedding was so cute and her mom mustered up the courage to go...i loved the theme but at my wedding i am so wearing shoes lol

    It was what I expected. Nothing we haven't heard before. I found it odd that Tyra made no mention what-so-ever about Prop 8. It made me wonder when the show was filmed, because it's so weird not to mention it. I think people forget that it is hard for some people's loved one's to deal with their homosexuality and you have to understand that and take your time with them. I mean I can easily write people off including family members but if you aren't willing to do that then you have to do something that works out for everyone. TsC

    Miss Jay looks fierce! I want his outfit!!!

    Tyra works in fashion industry so it's not surprising that she's so gay-friendly and her talk show covers quite a few gay-related topics. She's also very flirty so sometimes I feel like she has the hots for the models. I seriously thought she was gonna kiss one of the models in the Rami Kashou fashion show:

    Alright aside from the obvious(she has a huge forehead), Tyra is da bomb, she's jus the type that needs to not talk when I take her down thats all

    wow, i just went to the link posted by 'betty' and wow... Tyra sure can act like she's got the hots for the models, intense. I think its what she's like when she's modelling but wow, that was hot. Oh, i always wondered if Mr Jay and Ms Jay were a couple...
