"America's Next Top Model" 11.12 "The Final Five"After two weeks of being in the bottom two, lesbian model Elina was eliminated on tonight's episode, "The Final Five." Consistently referred to as being "too controlled," the judges were shocked to recall that the model hopeful was only 18-years-old because she wasn't going "crazy" enough in her shoots. Upon eliminating her, Tyra said, "You're the edgy one with tattoos!" and compared Elina's business suit attire to her composure. Suddenly, it all clicked for Elina, and she let go (OK, not really, but she does like to edit the show so that we'd think so, doesn't she?). Elina did, however, do a couple of growls while whipping her hair around her head. Too little, too late.
But I'm getting ahead of myself as, of course, the other models matter too. It was the go-see episode (or as Paulina referred to it, "the go-and-see" episode) that happens every cycle. The girls had to visit clients by boat in Amsterdam and confusion and stressful situations ensue (except for McKey, but then she shows up late so she probably should have been a little more attentive to the time). Completely out of character (I hope your sarcasm detectors are up), Marjorie freaks out and acts nervous and scared of the clients. They, in turn, are scared of the idea of working with such a wreck, despite her amazing photos. Poor Marjorie — do none of these girls have a Xanax to lend her? I guess not — it's a competition, after all. Elina did OK on her go-sees, except that the designers weren't too keen on her tattoos. Apparently, Amsterdam isn't up to date on the wonders of make-up or airbrushing. It appears that Elina isn't missing out on the rest of the competition, however. Next week: a challenge in which the girls must make out with a male supermodel. Something tells me that wouldn't have been the challenge where she lost control. i was full of joy when
i was full of joy when marjorie was not eliminated, only cause i can at least have another week of cute marjorie/analeigh interactions. safe to say the preview for next week completely crushed my bubble of marjaleigh heaven. *sigh, everything queer is on a complete downer these few days, even the imaginary ones :)
anyways, people should check out the antm bonus clips. if you haven't notice the marjaleigh love yet, you will after watching their scenes. so now excuse me, i'm going to hide happily in my room of denial & watch the clip where analeigh said they're a cute 'couple', agaiin & again ;D

Ahh! Because I'm thick, I totally thought this was for last week's episode, because I'm on the West Coast and tonights hasn't aired yet. :(

Elina....I loved to hate her.
Mostly because I identifying way too much with her.
She would overly-opinionated, walled-up, insensitive, damaged goods, and an attitude to boot.
Elina, do you want me to have your babies? Will that make it better?
Lol, i sort of wish I could have seen her in the next episode. Lol, I wanted to see if she was genuinely bi, or just pretending to be open for everything =)

I was really surprised when I found out she was 18, she seemed so much older.
As for next week's episode, I have mixed feelings about Marjorie making out with the male model, on the one hand, he's a dude, but on the other, maybe this will give her a bit of a confidence booster so she can be less stressed and make it into the final three, I can hope right?
Sidenote 'bout Amsterdam
Most people in Amsterdam, much like most people in the Netherlands aren't that fond of tattoos. I haven't seen this cycle yet, so I don't know about Elina's tattoos, but if they're kinda big and very visible, it's not a surprise to me.....Not that we Dutch people don't like tattoos, but we tend to like them small, sexy and meaningful. Preferably not in immediate sight ;)
p.s. i'm not bashing big tattoos, or saying they don't have a meaning, just talking 'bout the general perception of dutch people (at least, how I see it)

Elina was my fave so gutted she gone. I now want either Marjorie or Analeigh to win as I cannot stand McKey or Samantha, they so annoying.

I loved Elina from the bottom of my heart. Even with her shortcomings, I still love her. ;)
I felt that she was gonna get the axe on this episode. I foresaw it many episodes before.
I honestly think that she can handle herself in the modeling world because she's smart.
Also, Katarzyna Dolinska of cycle 10 was eliminated at this point in the competition.She was also my favorite.

First of all she wasn't even fat, she was full figured compared to the rest of them but definitely not fat. I'm fat...granted I look good and make it work, but yes I'm fat. "Sad Sad day when this country cant treat everyone as equal." Seriously so what about big girls then, huh? Rhetorical question, I'd prefer to not argue but seriously not everyone is a size 5 and all forms of beauty should be emraced.

The cool thing about this
The cool thing about this show is though Elina may be gone from the competition, I don't think she's going to have any trouble getting a modeling contract with the top agencies. Her photos are brilliant, her runway walk is brilliant, and fuck all if she's not down for commercials. As far as tattoos go, I'm not sure how they'll fair with designers but with a face, a body, and a strength like that, I have faith.
I miss the long funny recaps though, folks. Knowing who got boosted just by visiting Afterellen.com and before seeing the show pisses me off. Thanks for blabbing the spoilers on your front page.

Now that she's out of the competition she can finallly go back to her old look (which was way hotter!!). I still can't believe they messed up her hair like that. Had she entered the competition with that animal on her head she woulnd't have lasted a week....
