Television shows that are being shown the door

Now that all the fall television shows have made their debut or return, the networks are putting some of them on the proverbial chopping block. There have been rumors swirling on several shows, based on ratings, behind-the-scenes hirings and firings, and just plain gossip.

Here's where some of them stand.

Lipstick Jungle

Entertainment Weekly says it's out; Brooke Shields says it's not true. I'm hoping it's not true only because we want Lindsay Price to have a job, because there are so few Asian-American woman on television.

My Own Worst Enemy

Saffron Burrows plays a psychologist, and Christian Slater plays a man with split personalities. From reviews, it seems like this show doesn't know where it wants to go. I want Saffron to stick around, but can't vouch that I watch the show myself.

Pushing Daisies

The rumor mill maintains that the call for 13 episodes includes a finale (and not just for this season). Star Kristin Chenoweth even commented that she wasn't too sure about its future, and if no one is telling her what's up, then I can only guess it's headed off the air.

MADtv

This one seems to be entirely true. Was anyone still watching this, if anyone ever was to begin with?

Are any other shows you've been keeping up with heading down the same path? Perhaps Grey's will come to an untimely end. You never know with them.

Madtv I absolutely loved in the beginning. The  original actors/cast  made it what it was,but after majority of them left it pretty much went downhill from there. No,I not sad to see it leave.

Pushing Daisies

I love this show!! I don't want it to go. There are plenty of other horrible shows to take off in my opinion Ex. Are You Smarter Than A Fith Grader or Don't Forget The Lyrics!!! As long as Chuck is not on the rumored choping block, I guess that will make things a little better.

Me, too! I love it.

Chenowith is adorable.

I couldn't watch Lipstick Jungle, either. And what's bad is it's only because of Brooke Shields. She's just too annoying. Replace her, and then we'll talk.

Never heard of My Own Worst Enemy. Hmn. Maybe that's the reason it tanked?

Oh, and SNL > MAD TV. Fo' sho.

Shows going

I agree with both the above posters, MadTV was cool when it started, but I just lost intrest in it. And I find that there are so many cool shows that peopel do not get. Firefly, Dead like me, Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, are ignored by the masses so they can get some stupid 5th grader sing some song backwards.

I was really hoping My own worst enemy would last, I have such a Crush on Mr Slater. But then he was so cool in Star Trek VI.

I thoughts.... Lipstick

I thoughts....

Lipstick Jungle is OK - it doesn't blow me away. I like all 3 actess's, but I don't see anything new in it.

Pushing Daisies - I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show, I love Kristen, and I think it's new and unique. I hope it stays on, I will miss it if it goes.

MadTV - also loved it in the beginning, I don't think they've gotten great comedic actors in the last few seasons - nothing beats Mo Collins!

Gee- do I watch too much TV??????

MadTV

I absolutely loved some of their spoofs, but I mist say, I won't miss it. Pushing Daisies? I thought that show was a huge success?? Hmmm... that's just me I guess...

*tear*

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends has been cancelled. It's on of the best animated shows out there cause it had jokes only adults would realize and entertained little ones too without potty humor. They had a n episode called "The Big LeBluski" Only adults who love the Cohen Brothers' movie (like I do) would know the meaning behind the title and also recognize cartoon look-a-likes of the movie's three main characters. That's the one show I will miss this season :( foster's

Well crapspackle, that

Well crapspackle, that sucks! Foster's is one of the few cartoons I'll watch with my six year old brother. At least we'll still have Chowder, Flapjack, and Mighty B.

Rubbish :( I used to watch that a few years back. My favourite "kids show" guilty pleasure was always Grim and Evil though...

I will be devastated

I'll be devastated if Pushing Daisies doesn't get picked up! It's so unfair, everyone I know is a huge fan, but being in England, can't affect the ratings, cause we have to watch online! Argh!

Ticked Off

I'm so mad that My Own Worst Enemy got the axe. It's a really great show with lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing. I feel like the network didn't even give it a chance. All the election coverage and hoopla undoubtedly took away from it's opening numbers, but now it could really find it's audience and stick around for awhile. Saffron and Christian had great onscreen chemistry. This cancellation is, by far, the most disappointing.

One Tree Hill

Is it true that OTH is getting the axe as well?  I heard it may not come back after midseason wrap up.

OTH

wikipedia says that the series creator signed a contract on october 6, 2008 that basically guaranteed a 7th season, but that most of the actors contracts expire after the 6th season. beyond that i haven't heard anything.

I like One Tree Hill.  I'm glad they didn't end it when they were going to before.

It's a shame Pushin Daisies may be getting the boot - I think it's one of the most original shows out there, and I loved it - made me believe in magic again, haha. As for Fosters - DARN! I rarely got to see it, but when I did, it was very witty for a children's show - had it's moments, but all in all a pretty entertaining cartoon.

I will personally hate to

I will personally hate to see MadTV go off the air. I think it's funny, and we need an alternative to the stale Saturday Night Live. Don't get me wrong when Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are on every scene with them hits out of the park, but without them it's stale, bland, blech. I can't get over the "no-eye-contact" "eyes-always-on-the-cue-cards" stuff. It makes even a funny scene awkward because they're looking off to the side and never looking at the other person in the scene. It seems more like they're looking at me the viewer and not the other actor. Oh, that and the fact most scenes aren't funny no matter where they're looking. Since Tina Fey is pretty much done with it and Amy's off to be a mom, I won't watch the show again unless they have a guest or musical act I like (unlikely).

MadTV canceled? NOOOH!

Damn it! MadTV consistently made me laugh. SNL has only been touch and go to be honest. I'm going to miss their unrestrained sketches and Disney Prostitute singing.

I hope Comedy Central does decide to pick the show up. I may not have cable, but at least I could stream online.

I want to love Pushing Daisies (I loved Wonderfalls), but I'm never around when the show airs so...

Let Them Eat Cake....

If there is no bread then let them eat cake. They should find a new network, oh wait, no one wants crap shows. I have to say that all of these shows suck. I say goodbye now so they can make room for newer crap shows. TsC
