Amanda Palmer "What's the Use"

Bisexual musician Amanda Palmer has made a name for herself outside of the Dresden Dolls by continuing to create piano-rock with a dramatic cabaret flair. She's got a style all her own, and she's also been plagued by controversy over her expressive music videos.

In her new video for "What's the Use of of Wond'rin," Amanda sings a slow song about an abusive relationship, while helping a friend work through the pain.

    OMG this is actually amazing.  It's my least favourite song on her album as well, but this video is brilliant.  I heart Amanda.

    That song is from my favorite musical  Carousel.   I am not thinking that is what Rodgers and Hammerstein had in mind, but it is basically what was going on in the musical at that time.

    thanks for this, but the whole title is "what's the use of wond'rin"

    amazing video, sorta channels the cook the thief the wife and her lover at the end.

    I sorta wished the subtext became the text though!

    The more I learn about her, the more impressed I am.  It was great seeing her in concert a few months ago.  She's such a smart passionate musician.  

    Thanks for posting this video!  I've been really dying to see it.  It turned out just great.  So classic, so important, and funny.

    I was introduced to The Dresden Dolls and Amanda Palmer about a year ago by a beautiful gay boy in my life and it was one of the most  wonderful things he did for me. I absolutely love Amanda and her sense of musicality, art and performance. In this video she finally condensed the brillance of her voice and vision to create a true expression that I have only seen from her on the stage - it simply leaves you breathless. There are not enough Amanda Palmer-type artists in this world who dare to push their art with every performance and collaboration. Kudos Ms. Palmer.

    I just saw Amanda last night in NOLA. So fucking amazing! With the hiatus of Dresden Dolls I had forgotten about Amanda for the longest time. I am so glad she is back on the music scene. Her solo album is phenomenal.
