Morning Brew: Wednesday, Dec. 9
Happy Humpday!
Bitch has announced the release of her second solo LP, Blasted, which will come out on March 23. Perhaps the most interesting note in the press release is that the album was "fueled by a recent break-up." Yikes, so Daniela and Bitch are no more? Blasted is gonna be good.

True Blood has hired on Kristen Bauer as a series regular for season 3. She plays the lesbianish vamp Pam, so I'm looking forward to many Sapphic scenes from Eric's right-hand woman.

Jessica Capshaw told TVGuide.com that Greys fans have something fun to look forward to. "Callie and Arizona get a little sexy soon," she said. "We see a little girl-on-girl action. America was asking for it and America got it." I will not get excited, as to not become disappointed. Instead, I will pretend that she means a glance and a wink and a possible hand hold. Then I will be pleasantly surprised by anything they deliver.
A new play called She Likes Girls has opened in NYC, based on the shooting death of a lesbian in Newark in 2003. It follows the relationship between 16-year-olds Kia Clark and Marisol Feliciano, and the gay bashing Kia received. Despite knowing the sad end (as it's based on the real life tragedy), it received a pretty good review in the New York Times.

Cat Cora will be on The Dr. Phil Show tomorrow. She Tweeted that she'll be "cooking up an amazing dinner at David Foster's house 4 Bocelli." I wonder if he'll sing for his supper.
Village Voice columnist Michael Musto interviewed Sharon Gless about her role in Hannah Free, if she replaced Meg Foster because Foster was "too butch" for Cagney & Lacey and her status as a lesbian icon. The best quote: "There's nothing wrong with being a dyke." Duh!
Rachel Maddow was on Jimmy Fallon last night, doing what she does best: Talking and mixing drinks. What a lady.
Don't forget that Lady Gaga will answer Barbara Walters' question if she's ever slept with a woman on tonight's Top 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009. It airs on ABC tonight at 10 p.m. EST.

HAHAH
Sakia Gunn>>
LOVE this blog, Trish! Keep 'em coming!
I have to say: the review of She Likes Girls was cool but would it have killed the reviewer to do some research and know the play was inspired by the tragic death of Sakia Gunn? Just listing her as 'a lesbian who was killed in Newark in 2003' just seems so banal. lazy and...wrong.
I know there are 'Sakia Gunn's' everywhere but since this play was specifically inspired by real events in a real place at a real time, Sakia's name should not have been forgotten.
It's about time they made Pam a regular
