Morning Brew: Thursday, Dec. 17
Morning!
SnagFilms.com is reporting that the rights to the U.S. film version of Stieg Larsson's best-selling The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (and its sequels) are going to Sony as of today. One of the novel's major characters is "bisexual tattooed hacker detective Lisbeth Salander." There's already a Swedish film adaptation, starring Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth. Here's a clip:
Rhapsody.com has wrapped up the decade in music, including a write-up on queer pop and rock, from k.d. lang to Le Tigre to Lady Gaga. Although I'm not so sure I like the "pink face" term they're pushing, I like the inclusion of Queen Latifah. She's so gay friendly, isn't she?
Clea DuVall will guest star on Numb3rs in 2010 as "as the sister of a murdered escort." Girlfriend is making her way through every crime show on TV. I wouldn't mind if she came back around to SVU after Olivia Benson decides she likes kissing girls.

A new interview with BlackBook has Alia Shawkat talking about Arrested Development, Whip It, The Runaways and the HBO series she's writing with new BFF Ellen Page. I'm pretty sure Alia is involved with the some of the best projects in Hollywood.

Predictably, Angelina Jolie, Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox made a list of "The Top 10 It Girls of the 2000s." Also on the list, women who have kissed other women for ratings: Eva Longoria, Britney Spears and Hayden Panettiere. Five out of 10 have kissed another chick. Why aren't they ever in the same room together?
I have an acronym for the BBC: WTF? This week, they had a survey titled "Should homosexuals be executed?" on their site and finally removed it after complaints. Although it's no longer up, the BBC defended themselves saying it was a "challenging question" they were seeking answers to from readers. You'd think they'd be able to answer their own question.
The Dutch soap ONM has a new lesbian relationship in the making between Malú (Lauretta Gerards) and Jacqueline (played by out bisexual Miljuschka Witzenhausen). AfterEllen.com reader Lot clued us in, saying "It seemed like Malú was only into the relationship to piss off her (and Jacqueline's, yes they share an ex) ex-boyfriend, it looks as tho they're both quite happy with the relationship now." No word on how said ex-boyfriend feels, but I personally don't care.

Until tomorrow.

Morning Brew
I don't watch NUMB3RS regularly, but I will when Clea Duvall guests for sure. It's always fun to see Mr. Universe Charlie explain murder with a huge math equation, even I don't understand it...
Thanks for another insightful Morning Brew!

Definately not! She's a fascinating and powerful character. And her looks don't do her wrong either. Hot!
Lisbeth
Salander Salander Salander. Don't worry, me and all my friends are all head over heals in love with her. And no one can blame us, right? :)
As for this morning's brew and Millenium; I really wish that clip would have been from the 2nd movie. But I guess the incredibly amazing scene I'm
obsessingthinking about wouldn't really explain the movie. But a helluva good reason for wanting to watch it for sure. ;pYes!
I just started reading this book and read the scene from the trailer yesterday. And yes!, from the very short part of the book I read thus far, I am developing a healthy crush for Lisbeth.
Please make this a good movie, movie people. Hmm...who should play Lisbeth in the American version??
Saw the film at the PSIFF
Awesome movie!
I so agree with your comment to the "movie people" ... and I base that on La Femme Nikita vs Point of No Return. (The latter was decent, but it just lost a bit of that edge once Americanized).
Yes, who should play Lisbeth? I admit I couldn't help but think a certain SON actor might do the role justice. No matter who she is, she is going to have a tough time matching Rapace's performance.
I'm sorry I don't have
I'M HELLA EXCITED

i read the book before and was hooked. But never thought that Lisbeth Salander would look like that... she looks so much more tough than I imagined. Its that mind of hers that I'm attracted to.
