Good morning, lesbians and other queer counterparts!

Do you have that friend who thinks they know someone perfect for you because you are both lesbians? The guy who wrote this article for Complex is kind of like that, where he tries to match up Rosie O'Donnell with other out celebrities. Rosie and Kim Stolz or Leisha Hailey? Probably not. Also, many of the women featured already have partners, so they aren't really bachelorettes. Oh right — they're not married so I guess that counts as single, right guy? I really think this list should be called "Lesbians I Know About," by some random dude.

Thanks to @ninetymilewaterwall, we can now speculate that we'll be seeing Kate Walsh play a lesbian again! According to Kate's Twitter, she's filming Waska, based on the novel Angels Crest, playing the character Roxanne, who is shacked up with her lover Jane. If this happens, then maybe I'll start watching Private Practice in return. Maybe.

A new vampire movie has some lesbian kissing in it. I know, it's never been done before, so you're probably incredibly shocked that someone would dare put girls making out in a movie about necking. Blink and you could miss the kiss in this bloody trailer for VamL.

If you ever caught Sugar Rush on the BBC, you will recognize Sarah-Jane Potts who played Saint. She's got a new gig on Waterloo Road and her character Jo just came out. On this week's episode, the teacher flirts with a female co-worker. And not to spoil anything, but there will definitely be more than that going on in an upcoming episode.

HANK! don't say it like that! Maleficent was my hero when i was a little girl...lol. she wore nothing but purple and black. she had her own theme music. and thet raven that just materialized out of nowhere...plus, she could turn into a dragon...AWESOME. seriously, i cried when the prince pushed her into the canyon at the end. my mum had to lie to me and tell me she came back in the sequel...no lie.

but back on topic: kate walsh, yay! and i didn't see the resemblance to Maleficent before, but now that i do, private practice will have a warmer-fuzzier place in my heart.

If you really like Maleficent...

I have Out TV here in Canada, which is like Logo's really annoying and not nearly as cool baby sister, and it shows Sugar Rush. Decent show, may check out the other.

Also, I have never seen that picture of Rosie O'Donnell!

Kate in anything makes me happy!! She's so damn sexy. but she is an amazing actress too - which makes news like this even better! And as for Sugar Rush - loved it, and love Sarah-Jane Potts! Happy Girl :)

Kate Walsh played a lesbian in Under the Tuscan Sun. She also played a lesbian on the short lived TV show Karen Sisco.

While not a lesbian role, she was also really great as a transsexual showgirl named Mimosa on an early episode of CSI:Las Vegas.

Here's a piece from an interview with Kate Walsh:

WH: In Under the Tuscan Sun, you played the lesbian girlfriend of your Grey's Anatomy co-star, Sandra Oh. What was it like preparing for that part?

KW: That's the fun thing about being an actress: You get to do things you wouldn't normally do — like be a lesbian. It was funny, that part came in the middle of a trilogy of lesbian roles for me. I had just played a closeted lesbian suburban wife in an indie movie, and then I played a lesbian detective on Karen Sisco. Do I give off a girl-on-girl vibe, I wonder? Or is it because I'm tall? I guess the chicks just dig me!

I'm not sure what the "indie movie" was, but she definitely doesn't shy away from gay roles, and that's a good thing in my book.

The indie movie was Inside Out, which went straight to video. I was obsessed with Kate Walsh (still am, but not to the same extent ;)) a few years ago, and there was this clip of her on YouTube, which is actually her most explicit lesbian scene. It's like the last scene in the movie, since apparently the rest of the movie, she's closeted.

Anyways, excited to see she might be playing another lesbian role!

Thanks for the information... it'd be nice if IMDb made it easier to figure out which movie someone played a lesbian in (ha ha). The only reason I knew the other information was because I had seen her in the other roles.

"Under the Tuscan sun". Sandra Oh played her partner, and Walsh's character was a surgeon /and these are all the similiarities between the movie and Grey's Anatomy ;)/ But just two brief scenes, as far as I remember, also: not that great make-up as nowadays.

sandra oh's character's partner was played by kate walsh? why did i not know that? doh! disclaimer: i've only recently started watching grey's anatomy on dvd, from the beginning (sucked in by the recaps and callie/erica storyline reports on AE). addison is a real beauty with those fab red locks!

Its actually a decent movie as far as lesbian-vampire films go. And the vampire together with the main female character are definitely hot with good chemistry--they could have left that whole baby thing out though, sooo fucking overplayed with the lesbians.

On another note:

Dear head honcho film industry people, PLEASE STOP WHORING OUT THE VAMPIRE GENRE! God, if I see one more f*cking vampire or vampire themed movie or series and what have you I will come to your homes and shart on all of your faces as you sleep!!!!!

PRO: Who wouldn’t want to have a hot model chick on their arms?

Just breezed through all of Sugar Rush and loved it. Sad there was only two seasons, but honestly its probably better since I should be using this time to study for exams :) One thing I was always kinda confused about was Kims age, I know she started as a 15 year old, but after that its anyones guess. Loved Sarah-Jane Potts both as Saint and in Kinky Boots!

You should really watch it if you get a chance. I really liked it! It's a british film about a young man who inherits his fathers failing shoe company. The factory looks like its about to go bankrupt until he meets a drag queen and comes up with the idea to make shoes specifically aimed at the drag queen market. It really covers the whole situation nicely :) Oh and it's based on a true story!
