This week, Dana and Helen of Mombian.com discuss the two new children's books by Lesléa Newman, the author of Heather Has Two Mommies.
Then they reveal yet another hidden lesbian on children's television, Lily Tomlin, and ask whether we'll see any actual LGBT families on television anytime soon.
Check back every Thursday for a new episode.

Hey!
Hi you guys, I just want to leave a comment saying how much I enjoy your videos. I find the topics interesting even though I don't plan to have kids for a while. I want to go watch that Postcards from buster episode now, my sister used to watch it and I don't think we ever came across that one.
I've always noticed that on these disney shows my sister watches the main families are rarely your typical mom+dad situation (Hannah Montana lives only with her dad, the girl in iCarly is being raised by her brother only, These twins in some other show have an absent father etc.) so down the road I don't think it would be entirely surprising to have same-sex families (unless you take the lack of certain parents to be a laziness to develop more characters)
Looking forward to your next episode
Thanks!
Thanks, Bilong! We're glad you enjoy the vlogs.
FYI, the Postcards from Buster episode is called Sugartime. It's on DVD in a collection titled "Buster's Outdoor Journeys." The major online bookstores seem to have it.
I agree about the non-traditional families in Disney shows. Add in classics like Cinderella, and the Little Mermaid, too--not to mention non-Disney characters like Harry Potter and Luke Skywalker. Given all that, it really does puzzle me that people are so reluctant to show LGBT families for fear that we're "destroying" the image of the traditional family. That image is hard to find, methinks.
