Mia Kirshner joins "The Vampire Diaries"

Did you miss her?

~~Jenny Schecter~~ Mia Kirshner is returning to regular television. EW.com has just reported that the actress will become a recurring character on the CW's Vampire Diaries. She will play Isobel, "the sweet-yet-dangerous wife of Matt Davis’ history teacher, Alaric," who is played by Matt Davis.

The casting side for her character is as follows:

[ISOBEL] 32-38 years old, a beautiful Caucasian woman, sweet but can make the turn to dangerous. She is Alaric’s (Matt Davis) wife. STAR NAMES OR STRONG GUEST STAR ACTORS ONLY. GUEST STAR, RECURRING.

It looks like Mia is moving up in the world! She's a star name to us, that's for sure.

The best part about this news it that we won't have to wait long to meet Isobel, as she'll appear on the Jan. 21 episode.

I have to admit that I'm a little bummed she won't be playing a vampire, but there's only one way to remedy that, right? Someone bite Isobel, please. Any takers?

I wouldn't necessarily call the CW moving up in the world... and I'm more bummed that she will be playing a straight chick... but right on for her. Maybe I'll record and fast forward to her scenes.

Mia I missed you, those big crystal eyes of yours and that voice...To bad she wont be playing a vampire though, it would have made it ten times better.

I'm with you, Alexandra! For Rachel Shelley I would watch ~~this crap~~ Vampire Diaries, but for Mia I will not tune in!

I <3 the Vampire Diaries. They do a lot of the filming around where I live. This gives me EXTRA incentive to go check out filming when they start back up next year!

Glad she's coming back to television, at the same time I really don't want to join the unholy -not in a good way- cult of Vampire Diaries. I'll definately watch while she's on the show though.

Ah those eyes, love her in Not another teen movie, so silly.

Not really sure what is going with the character cause if she is the wife of that dude, then wouldn't that make her a vampire, or just a fangbanger? I hope she goes all sexy evil and lures one of those brothers into her bed and castrates them, I am so sick of brooding vampires, get on with it already!

I have the whole season so far of The Vampire Diaries on my DVR, and now I definitely have a reason to watch it over winter break. Yay Mia, I love her so much! :D She's so gorgeous.

Mia's finally making her way back to the screen??? Finally! I really enjoyed hearing that she was developing and having 'I Live Here' published, but I'm so excited to see her acting again. She's so damn pretty and cute, not to mention Smart!

Best part: we won't have to wait long?? Haha, I read 'Jan 21' and thought, hooo my god, that's so far awaayyyy

I think Mia Kirshner is perfect for the role described, too bad it's on the CW. She morphed wonderfully throughout all 6 seasons of TLW, playing everything that was thrown at her to the nines. I'll check it out, for Mia, though it may only be via youtube Kirshner searches...

I've watched the show since the begining.. I love it <3 there are way too many hot people on there. Now Mia is going to be on there? my goodness I'm excited to see her again... and playing someone normal? I can't wait to see her pull it off ;)

hm..not a fan of the show but will bother with her episodes. She is greatly missed and will love to see her in anything, even if she's doing her laundry, I'm right there with a bag of chips.
