News, Reviews & Commentary on Lesbian and Bisexual women in Entertainment and the Media

Logo Legacy Campaign: Angela Robinson

As part of their project to explore the legacy of LGBT men and women, Logo and Subaru invited several prominent men and women in media, entertainment and advertising to discuss their experiences and what "Legacy" means to them.

Filmmaker Angela Robinson (D.E.B.S., Girltrash) talks about working on The L Word and how she aims to make films that are so fun and interesting that viewers don't even know she's inserting her own political ideas into the story.

Lesbians can be super fun!

Angela's contributions to the L Word have always brought the funny -- you could tell the episodes that she directed and wrote because they brought that element of absurdity and hilarity that was sometimes so desperately needed. I think she's amazing voice for lesbian media and know we're going to keep seeing kickass work from her!

Angela ROCKS

I simply love Angela Robinson and her film creations.  Some of my favorite L Word episodes like 505 (the pot brownie party) or 603 were written & directed by her.  I am so looking forward to GIGANTIC she is working on now (it is supposed to air in January 2010) and that Laurel Holloman will be in!

Angela is my hero

If I ever get a chance to live my dream of directing I would model my film work after Angela's work, particuarly D.E.B.S.  As far as the L Word goes, Showtime should have handed her the Executive Producer role after Season 2.

Angela's episodes were always sexy, funny and smart. I looked forward to the episodes she wrote and directed in advance.  I waited with baited breathe until they aired, knowing full well it would be one of the best episodes of the season.  Thankfully she never disappointed.

I will be forever grateful for her direction of one of the sexiest lesbian love scenes ever made.  The Dylan and Helena love scene in Season 3 was beyond hot.

I hope Angela gets the opportunity to direct more feature films.  I'm so tired of Hollywood handing over huge budgets to male directors with an ounce of talent as they ignore great female directors like Angela.

You go girl!!!

I love "D.E.B.S.", and the gambling episode that Angela Robinson directed, what was it, the Luck Be a Lady Tonight theme from "Guys and Dolls", will always be my favorite "L Word" episode.  The music, the quick cuts, the split screens, the 3 way cell phone conversations...  vintage Angela Robinson.

Does anybody know what she is currently working on besides "GirlTrash"?
