Lindsey Haun will play Sookie's cousin on "True Blood"Fact: Evan Rachel Wood is playing a lesbian vampire queen on True Blood this season.
Fact: Wood's character will feed on another woman. Fact: Lindsey Haun has joined the cast as Sookie's cousin, Hadley and has filmed scenes with Evan Rachel Wood.
Rumor: Lindsey Haun will be fed on by Evan Rachel Wood. While I cannot yet confirm that country singer-turned-actress Lindsey Haun will be in the grasp of straight-woman-who-oft-plays-lesbian ERW, it does seem pretty likely that this rumor could be true. I'm all for speculation, and definitely intrigued that, if true, she's part of Sookie's family. It must run in their blood. According to the fansite True-Blood.net: The casting call for the character of Hadley reads: Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) cousin, this fresh-faced 20 something year old country girl is locked in a steamy clinch with the vampire queen (Evan Rachel Wood). The dazed Hadley has been seduced into a whole other world — but she still feels the pull of her human roots… She first appears in episode 211, “Frenzy”, set to air Sunday, August 30 on HBO. Wood will appear on True Blood on August 30, so it's quite possible we will find them in each other's presence. It will be toward the end of the season and both women are only confirmed for three episodes. However, season 3 is already a go, and I can't wait to see what kind of cliffhanger leaves me hanging. Do you think Lindsey Haun will play Evan Rachel Wood's human? Submitted by on August 11, 2009 - 12:00pm. |

I don't watch True Blood
I do watch True Blood
Haven't gotten around to checking out the books yet...
Sophie Ann and Hadley
POSSIBLE SPOILERS
In the books, Sophie-Ann is not specifically lesbian as she has relationship with men as well and marries a King for political reasons. Hadley doesn't live very long either. Whether Alan Ball is staying close to the books or not remains to scene. They certainly haven't this season. It's a great show but be cautious about getting your hopes up.
Possible Spoiler
I don't know if this is considered a spoiler so you've been warned
In the books Hadley is most definitely involved with Sophie and they're very much in love. There's no uncertainty in their feelings for eachother, but with that said a lot has been changed from the books so who knows how it's going to play out. Just by the fact that Hadley is even appearing in the show says that its going to be different, she was only referenced in flash backs in the books.

will you still love me if im blind trish?
True Blood
Hahaha
Wasn't Lindsay Haun that spooky evil alien-child ringleader in the Village of The Damned remake? Me and my sister used to loooooooooooove that movie when we were about 10. We thought that it was hilarious ('keep away from me, ya little piss-ants!' *jabbing broomstick wildly*) and scary as hell.
I was quite obsessed with Lindsay Haun at the time, bizarrely enough.
It's so weird to suddenly see her here on AE, I had forgotten all about her!
Hip To The Beat, Mommie-O!
I'm so excited for this!
I LOVE Evan Rachel Wood and True Blood, I don't know who Lindsey Haun is but I'm excited for this to go down.
Uncanny!..
Evan Rachel Wood bears a striking resemblance to Kate Walsh in that picture...awesome!
Wow!..
yay for lesbian vampires
I tried to read Lindsay Haun's account of her casting, but got waaay too distracted by the run-on sentences and horrifying grammar. Please just let the actors look pretty, and not try to talk or write complete sentences!
This show has been HURTING for some lesbian vampires, given that they're such a vital part of the genre way back to the old novel "Carmilla". This will surely be a welcome change from all the Sookie/Bill codependent mushiness. I hope Pam gets some girly action soon too!
I cannot wait!!
books or not
Hotness
The only reason why I started watching True Blood was because I read that Evan Rachel Wood was joining the cast. Then it turned out that this series is one of the best things ever. I love this show but I really can't wait for her to join in the fun.

At the end of this trailer we get a little glimpse of her.. "Wanna join me?" - totally fucking awesome. If you are not up to date with what's been happening, then I suggest not watching the trailer.

Lauren
Yay!
TRUUUEEEEE BBLLOOODDDD
Love the show...I look forward to some lesbo action! Woo!!
Evan Rachel Wood on True Blood
I have only have seen a few episodes of the series of True Blood, but it looks great. I luv a Lesbian Vampire stirring up the pot, to make it hot for Lezbo assistance in watching the show.
Because really, the show is pretty straight. However, if you like Vampires, it does not matter.oh that girl
totally one of the Disney Channel's Movie Surfers some years ago.
They are going very off book
They are going very off book these days. The fact that the queen is in this season at all, let alone with Hadley is new.
I know i know, i should appreciate where Alan Ball is taking it blah blah, but so far this season has just disappointed me unfortunately. He's rushing everything, bringing in chars and elements from later books coz he can't fill the show's voids himself. Lets hope he at least does this justice. Someone has already f**ked up coz ERW is going round saying that the queen is 500 or something. When shes at least 1000 years old. tsk tsk.
LOL
You know women don't like to tell their real age! Why would the hot Vampire Queen of Louisiana be any different?? LOL

Sorry for the gravity...

EEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHH!!!!!! *happy dance* *silent freakout* !!!!!!!
Yeah, I'm excited.
Hmm, I just started Definitely Dead where Hadley & the Queen start to become more prominent. But, stopped to give my self a break from these books, as I was reading them cover to cover one after the other for a couple months. Hmm, maybe I'll crack it open and see how deep I can get until these episodes air.
Possible Spoiler -- info from books
This is a possible spoiler -- it's info from the last few books.
Bimyself -- your Pam wish has been granted in the books, at least... who knows about the show. :P
In the books, Hadley is Bi, as is the queen. As someone else noted, the queen married the king of Mississippi after Hadley died (tho for both of them it was just to expand their power, not for love). The queen loved Hadley immensely & I believe turned her -- I assume so they could be together. I'm thinking in the episode on the 23rd, that was Hadley's blood foot we saw. I know in another preview they shoewd the queen 'feeding' on someone. Hadley isn't in the books until after she passes and as someone else noted, it's all in flashbacks (sorta). Sookie & Hadley were close as kids but grew apart as they got older... Sookie didn't know Hadley had become a vamp till after she was informed Hadley had 'died' (for good). Hadley talked a lot to the queen about her 'favourite cousin' Sookie in Bon Temps...
If you read book 9, you'll learn a lot more about Hadley's past prior to her meeting the Queen. Without revealing too much, we know she'd been with a guy before Sophie Anne. The queen is also very attached to her top "assistant" of sorts, Andre. If I remember correctly, they indicate she'd been with a variety of men & women in her centuries of existance.
Hadley & the queen don't enter the books, tho, till mid-way thru the book series -- Who knows what Alan Ball's doing bringing them in now, and bringing in Hadley, presumably, "Alive". I'm not a fan of Ball's -- I think he's made True Blood a bastardized version of the books, which were so good & a great balance of mystery, romance, sci-fi/supernatural, & suspense. I think he's so worried about keeping the show 'edgy' and 'sexy' for ratings that he's sacrificing the story. But people who haven't read the books don't realize what they're missing. Season 1 was pretty bad, honestly -- it got better in the 2nd half, but it was still a bit ridiculous at times (like Bill walking out into the sun to "save" Sookie... Seriously, he's not a moron. He would have known he couldn't have helped her, even if he reached her. What can a crispy burnt vamp do to fight off a killer?) Season 2 has been better, for the most part, but he took out a huge chunk of the book w/Sookie in TX & at the fellowship so he could make the Maryann story the main plot -- and as most people seem to agree, it's drug on waaay too long. I'm thinking that Ball's trying to randomly shove in as much from the books as he can, and as seasons progress, if it sticks around, that it'll deviate more & more from the books b/c he's changed the characters, when they 'enter' the picture, etc. Also, in part, because the moron states in season 1, episode 1 that it's POST-Katrina when the Great Reveal happens... but the first (4 or 5?) few books are all set pre-Katrina. Katrina's destruction plays a HUGE role in the books -- I don't see how he can follow that plot now, even if it were in flashbacks, since Sookie wouldn't be able to be involved.
Anyway, I've ranted enough. I recommend reading the books if you haven't already because they're MUCH better than the show. I'm interested to see where the last 2 eps go, adding Hadley & Sophie Anne... And SO ready for the Maryann story to be over.
