Lauren Graham says there will be no "Gilmore Girls" film

Last Friday night, Lauren Graham appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to talk about her post-Gilmore Girls career, which currently includes her role as Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls on Broadway.

Apparently, it's hard for so many fans to move past the fact that the show is over, and Graham and co-star Alexis Bledel have moved on.

“You know, for me, it’s over. Because it’s over," Graham said of playing Lorelai Gilmore. "But it lives on. And so, like, I come to New York and I’m doing a musical, I’m wearing a blonde wig and I have a New York accent, you know I’m doing this thing that’s written in the ’50s and still, like, I walk out of the stage door at night and people are like ‘When’s the Gilmore Girls movie?' and I’m like, ‘Oh my god! Are you kidding me?’”

It doesn't help that on April Fool's Day last week, EW's Michael Ausiello utilized his Twitter to help perpetuate the rumor of a movie being greenlit, only for fans to discover it was his little joke for the holiday.

In the past, Graham has been a little more wishy-washy about the idea of a film, not completely saying it's out of the question, so this will most likely be the most affirmative answer now. The final word: Graham says "It's over," and there's no Gilmore Girls without Lorelai Gilmore.

Nobody knows this about me

I feel embarassed that I so loved this show and wish there could be a film that shows Lorelai and Luke living happily ever after.  And Rory...well who knows but something interesting.

Don't be embarassed...

With a screenname like this, I'm obviously not hiding my GG love. Lauren and Alexis were fabulous together and Stars Hollow was one of the most eccentric & endearing tv towns. The final season ended up abruptly so it only stands to reason that fans would like some decent closure. It's a shame we won't get to see Lorelei up on the big screen.

A movie, I want it...

I'm not even going to lie, a Gilmore Girls movie would make me so happy. Lauren Graham needs to realize that after that craptastic seventh season, we need a movie to fix all that crazy BS.

No movie = Good move

Gilmore Girls is maybe my favourite TV show of all time, and Lauren Graham is my perfect woman, but I'm sorry - GG was near unwatchable after Amy Sherman-Palladino left. I'm quite happy for them to just leave it as is.

On a more positive note, is Lauren not looking pretty f-ing hot for a 42 year old? Or for a person of any age?

LG is definitely hot...and I also agree that doing a movie (especially w/out AS-P) would have been jumping the shark...

How about if Amy Sherman-Palladino

wrote the screen play for the movie. I agree, the show tanked after she left!

Agreed!! She is so funny

Agreed, she is very hot!! She is so funny too. I loved Gilmore Girls. But I do agree, the last season absolutely sucked.

Really Hot!.. i agree the movie wouldn't be such a good idea.. I would totally watch a new season, but the movie wouldn't be enough-- you can't show a complete Gilmore situation in an hour and a half.. you need about three and a half episodes for that.. lol
