Hilary Swank buys the rights for "French Women Don't Get Fat"

French women and Hilary Swank don't get fat. How is that possible? Well, I'm not quite sure as I haven't read the book, but I assume it has something to do with personal trainers and metabolisms. Over two million copies of French Women Don't Get Fat have been sold worldwide, and Swank is obviously a fan, as she's purchased the rights to adapt it for the big screen.

Swank and producing partner Molly Smith (pictured below at the premiere of Swank's film P.S. I Love You) own 2S Films, and together they will develop and co-produce the feature film. The actress is rumored to star in the movie as well, but nothing has been confirmed.

Screenwriter Heather Hach will be adapting the book, and based on her track record (the Freaky Friday remake starring Lindsay Lohan and the Legally Blonde musical) it seems as if the film will be loosely based on its original text. Hach is also working on a Freaky Friday sequel, which I think should bring back Lohan and Jodie Foster, who both played the daughters in their respective FF versions. Really, I'm casting a different film in my head that stars the both of them. (I'll leave it at that.)

Have you read French Women Don't Get Fat? Would you see the film if Hilary Swank was the star?

Oh Hilary Swank

I'll see just about anything you're in, simply because you touched my tranny heart in Boys Don't Cry.

Let's hope the movie is as good as the book.

Foster and Lohan...in one film!?!

I'd love to be a fly on the walls of THEIR movie trailers...heh.  The major topic of conversation:  How to come out without "coming out".  And since Jodie seems to have traded in her older girlfriend for a younger model, she might do it again and then Lindsay might find herself an alternative to Sam...hehehe.

Love Hilary Swank...

I have seen all of Hilary Swank's movies, even the crappy ones, so of course I will go see this one too.  However, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't "French Women Don't Get Fat" a NONFICTION book?

I remember watching the original "Freaky Friday" with Jodie Foster in the 70s (that picture of her with the typewriter sure brings back memories).  Since Jodie and Lindsay are both lesbians in real life, here is my suggestion for a "Freaky Friday" remake:  Jodie plays the lesbian mother, Lindsay plays the lesbian daughter, they switch places and girlfriends for one week, hilarity ensues (or maybe just random chaos).  Whatcha think?

Hilary Swank=Eva Mendes

Is it me or does Hilary Swank look like Eva Mendes in that picture.  Either way she looks Haute!

A little like Eva

A little like Eva Mendes...  Even more like Raquel Welch.  Shortly before make-up artist Kevin Aucoin died, he transformed Swank into Welch, using the latter's image from the One Million Years B.C. poster.  It was a nearly perfect likeness.  And I see it here, too.

Dear Hilary,

I've watched every movie you have ever been in. I've seen you try to save the earth, I've watched you pick up cool karate moves, I've watched you struggle with your identity and I've seen you teach street kids how to express themselves in writing. Among the other movies I've seen you in, which I'll keep the list short of, I've watched you be a boxer and I've even watched the Black Dahlia for you. I'm sorry to say I wasn't impressed about that last one or a couple of other choices you've made but, of course, the jewels make it all worth while.

Now, you making this decision to buy a, well... dietary book is beyond me. I'm not even speaking of movie rights. I'll be the first to admit I haven't read the book. I've been blessed with a marginally self-sustaining body that has never even laid eyes on the inside of a dietary book. My eyes, however, have seen you and I can't, for the life of me, think of a single reason why you would need a dietary book.

But as a woman in 2008 you must've had a reason and you liked it, apparently. Enough to make a movie about. I'm a bit... hesitant about the whole thing but as you might imagine, I'll come and see it anyway but only if you're in it.

Please, when you're ready to make a movie about any other diet or the likes... let me know in advance. I doubt I can handle two of these without mental preparation.

With love and eternal respect,

Faith
