Heather Matarazzo stars alongside Jennifer Coolidge in "Magnus!"Out actress Heather Matarazzo has signed on to play one of the most interesting characters she's likely to ever play — and she's played some odd ones. Heather will be starring as "a trailer-trash gal who loves singing and gets cast in a local production of Jesus Christ Superstar" who is likened to Jessica Simpson.
The film, Magnus!, is from openly gay director Ash Christian (Fat Girls) and Best in Show actress Jennifer Coolidge will play Heather's mom.
Yes, it sounds incredibly awesome. Shooting starts this month and PrideSource.com reports that production hopes to be wrapped in time to get Magnus! in next year's LGBT film festivals. Sounds good to me! In the meantime, the just-turned 27-year-old actress is keeping busy as an ambassador for the Hetrick-Martin Institute, which just held its annual Emery Awards last night. Heather attended with her fiancée, Caroline Murphy.
And, of course, there's the return of Exes & Ohs sometime in 2010. What will Crutch's hair look like this season? I'm dying to know.
Do you think Magnus! sounds hilarious? I love both Heather and Jennifer Coolidge, so I think it's a perfect mother-daughter match, especially for a trailer park musical dramedy. Submitted by on November 12, 2009 - 10:10am. |

I'm excited. But at first I
I'm excited. But at first I though Jesus Christ Superstar was Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. IMO, the use of that less popular musical in anything would be even more hilarious but that doesn't even make sense.
