But I'm a dude.
Oh come on.
In all fairness, Pat, this is a lesbian website and it's logical that one would assume (given the gender neutral name) a poster was female.

I can sympathise
haha
The Simpson characters are here. haha. Hey guys!. I say welcome, but, again, I can't see how it can be annoying to be assumed a female on a lesbian website.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm
Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not annoyed at all. I was just having a bit of a laugh is all. And I can completely understand how, with my name being Pat, I could be mistaken for a woman what with this being a lesbian website and all. No bad feeling here, trust me.
I will admit that what brought me here wasn't the most innocent of reasons; seeing a link for lesbian gamers, but after watching a few episodes, I've become completely hooked and look forward to each episode each week.
Buzz! Master Quiz on the
Buzz! Master Quiz on the PSP looks like my kind of game. Although I don't have the PSP I have the DS. Hmph! I love trivia games. I'm amazed at my ability to remember the most trivial things (One of my friends says that she learns something new everytime she talks to me) and yet I can't remember what I HAVE to do each day without post-it notes placed everywhere (Seriously it's bad. I usually have them under my keys, on my phone, on my front door...and I sometimes put post-it notes on my steering wheel to remind me of all the places I'm going. Thank goodness for post-it notes and the calander on my phone)
I'm curious if I know the songs on the Guitar Hero Aerosmith. Everytime I hear Aerosmith I think of my mother. She loves them and so I grew up listening to them constantly. I know the words to almost all of their songs. So I might actually be one that would like it.
Good vlog as always!
Edit: In reguards to place names (nothing to do with pronunciation but funny names of places) I'm from Pennsylvania, home state of the towns: Intercourse, Blue Ball, Bird In Hand, Fertility, Paradise, Virginville (all of which are mainly amish communities) and Climax. I wonder what the people were thinking about when they named those towns. Ha

Im with you Alisha
Totally know what you are talking about - sometimes i can't remember what i went into the kitchen to get but i can probably tell you the randomest facts about way too much stuff its scary. Im pretty i push out the useful stuff when i learn more useless trivia but hey ho! Phone reminders and calendars are a god send!
To GGWG - I have Buzz Quiz TV for my PS3 which i love, so deffo going to invest in the portable Buzz for my PSP. GH Aerosmith was a dissapointment to me, I found it much easier that GH3. On saying that - i agree its still harder than rockband which for me was a let down after i went to all the trouble of importing it for PS3. thats going up for sale before Guitar Hero World Tour comes out.
You ladies need to do more PS3 game reviews - i know you said that if its out on 360 and PS3 you buy it for the 360, but there are some games that deserve the PS3 nod on your Vlog. Maybe i am too new to your vlog and i missed it!
Enjoyed your Vlog - thanks

Bought the Super Mario Brawl game and I totally love it. Have you
I have a question that my girlfriend wanted me to ask you. Do you know of any war games with female lead characters?
hehehe pat!!
What in the heck do you expect man? Jeez! You are a man in a sea of lesbian/bisexual women. Now if your full name was listed as Patrick than the mistake would not have been made. Well another great ep.! I , of course, will be tuning in next week. I can't wait to hear if star wars unleashed will be any good... I'm hoping it will ;)

What ! You want to watch Television on the TV??!! BUT but
Hi you two
So much fun to just hear game chat and reviews.
I'm just on the PS3 for awhile and that's hard to manage because of the Olympics, my partner being a sports fan, I can only play for the hour they break for news or after midnight (Ha! way to old for that, plus something called work). I got Oblivion for the PS3, I've played it for over a year on the PC and just wanted to see what the comparison is...I know I'll miss my Mods (the player generated extra content you can download). I can't say anything about it yet because I haven't come out of the sewers....bloody olympics...(but really the olympics are great, I enjoy them).
The fan on the video card of my PC sounds like a dying goose so I am going to upgrade it and replace it. Myself!!! I think. Cross your fingers! I have the new video card and just need the guts to try replacing it. I've been reading several sources of how to do it. Bet I'll end up announcing it to myself like the Olympics. She up!, her fingers are posed!, there she's uninstalling the old drivers.....
I WAS playing on my PC Fallout and I've bought Fallout II (at the time it was panned so I passed on it. but now I'm in the mood) to play, all in prep for Fallout 3.
Really enjoying your VBlog, its so welcome cause not a single one of my friends game. Sounds like Angela will play an RPG but Tracy not so much, is that right?
yeah
nice episode, as usual.
yesterday my mom bought me the hanna montana game for ds, i m not really into those music but i cant even understand the lyrics so i just couldnt play it. i really sad for my mom, but i dont know what to do
please if you have play it, tell if it is a good game
song
Wonderful episode as usual ladies, thank you very much. One question did you ever play Zack and Wiki for the wii? I love puzzle games and I just finished that one. It was pretty fun I thought.
I kinda like your theme song the way it is, but I would be honored to write a snappy new tune for you ladies. I'm going to be off in europe working on some start up projects for the next month or so but when I get back I will work on something lovely for your vlog. Maybe some old sort of original nes sounding stuff. hmmm let me know what you want and i will make it happen.
Braid
Very Cool
GH Aerosmith was pretty fun. I think hardcore Aerosmith fans would have a lot more fun playing it. I'd wait till the price got below $20 to spend money on it too.
For now I'm still happy playing GH2 and GH3 to provide my GH fix.
However ace show ladies. :)
O.o
Ehem...i never got the point of big bird or seseme street unless it was to drive teenage babysitters mad.
Lovely blog as always, but now I must go fetch Madden 09 and ponder upon the madden curse and silly Mr. Farves new Jets uniform.
The patriots...really...
More live action gaming
I think that there should be more video of you two actually p-l-a-y-i-n-g games. Phew, there I said it. We see game trailers, we see you two waiving around peripherals, we see boxes boxes and more boxes, but where is the 'live' game play? Where are the faces being made as you're making Nariko kick all sort of ass? And Lara? Where's the joy, the pain, the glee?? I'm not even going there with Rock Bank. Made for vlog gaming, that is!
I know that you don't have a lot of time (vlog length, jobs, lives, etc) but I think that GGWG actually gaming would be pretty darn cool.
GG gaming, GG gaming, << where did I put my pom poms! >>
iPhone as Tricorder: Make It So...
I have tried to get my game on, I swear. I bought a PS3 at Christmas for the express purpose of playing Rock Band, but I've only played it 3 times. All I've succeeded in doing so far is proving once and for all that I have zero rhythm and even less hand-eye coordination.
Your vlog did remind me about The Force Unleashed, though. I read about that a while back and saw the trailer on the internet and thought it looked cool, but I had forgotten about it. (Still think I would rather watch somebody play it than try to figure it out myself...). And that Buzz game looks like something I would like.
I think it says something about my defective gaming gene that the only two games I "play" consistently on my iPhone are Sudoku (I like the EA version best, so does that mean I can call doing a number puzzle "gaming"?) and Labyrinth Lite (a simulation of the old-fashioned gravity game played with a steel ball and blocks of wood).
Luckily, once again you guys have managed to slip in a little peripheral geekery for gaming-challenged folks like me:
Felicia Day! Star Trek!
Yes, Angela, I do secretly fantasize that my iPhone is a tricorder. I wish someone would develop an app that simulates the tricorder (you could even flick it "open" old school with that tricorder sound from the original series using the accelerometer).
Until then, e-mail this link to your phone, then open it in Mobile Safari:
http://38i.biz/tricorder/
Kind of lame because it has no sound, but the buttons work.
Keep rockin' the v-log!
Hey again
I have to say I agree with the iphone/tricorder idea (and I completely agree it does)...
Thanks for the agreement on the XBox 360... I will be telling my mum that, and showing her the vlog (*crosses fingers* christmas pressie).
Okay I need to know Wii Fit or Guitar Hero 3 --- I have my birthday coming up and I will be getting money for it as it is my 21st... So I need someone who has played both to give me a helping hand at picking because I dont have a clue on which to pick.
Condemned 2 and GH Aerosmith
Hey Angela! I didn't say that Condemned 2 was a disappointing game, I said that I was skeptical about my ability to do well with it since it involves a lot of melee combat with combos to learn. It's just not my cup of tea, plus I realized after starting it that I really wasn't in the mood for something so dark and gritty. HOWEVER, the production values are excellent, and I can tell it's something that a lot of people would really enjoy. (And, in fact, it received high marks from several reviewers.) This isn't surprising, considering that it was developed by Monolith. So, I think you should still consider picking it up.
Regarding GH Aerosmith: I liked this more than I expected to, even though it wasn't great. GH in general has gotten a little stale for me since the release of Rock Band, but I was interested to see how they would handle focusing on a single band. I, too, was surprised by the omission of some of their biggest hits from the track list. Although, in fairness, I did go back and listen to the ones that were missing and realized that at least a few of them would have been poor choices for inclusion in the game (either they didn't have compelling guitar solos or lacked consistent riffs, etc.). The others I wouldn't be surprised to see in Guitar Hero World Tour at some point.
I did think it was too expensive for the number of songs included. For those who want to try it and haven't bought it yet, I would wait for a sale or a used copy. It actually does have the number of songs advertised on the box, but around a dozen of them are in a section called "The Vault" - i.e. they are not part of the normal track progression. This bunch is a mixed bag and contains some solo work by Joe Perry, for example (let's just say there's a reason his solo career never took off).
Also, Angela, you are not wrong - Guitar Hero in general is harder than Rock Band. When Guitar Hero 3 came out, one of the biggest criticisms from reviewers was that the level of difficulty had been ramped up, and that Hard played more like Expert level had in previous games. The developers did say that they made a conscious effort to address difficulty issues in GH:A. I found it a lot more forgiving than GH3, but it is still different than the Rock Band guitar experience.
Thanks
Thanks for answersing my questions. BOOOOOO Patriots ... BOOOOOO Giants !!!! Hopefully my COWBOYS will kick the Giants ASS this season. We always play the Giants twice a year. Not sure if we are playing the Patriots this year or not. If we do, I hope Romo kicks Brady's butt. Angela, if you like Super Hero logos, I would have assumed the San Diego Chargers would be more in line. Don't you think thier logo is like Lighting Boy or one of the other Super Heros from the comic books. I loved comic book super heros growing up. Justice League, Teen Titians, Superboy, etc... Any chance both you girls would give us your TOUCHDOWN DANCE on the next Vlog ?? PLZ PLZ PLZ !!
I think the longest I have played a game was just a couple of hours. My eyes start to bug out after that.
Just FYI .... I loved Condemmed 2. It is the only game I finished all the way through.
By the way ... where is my WESTERNED THEMED Vlog ???

Hey
Hey Dudettes,
Nice to hear of another 360 price cut. Basically what I'm hoping is available in Australia before Christmas is the latest price cut, the 60GB version and the new Jasper board. Once that happens I'm pouncing.
Good luck getting me in front of the camera, lol. Work on the hot chocolate arcade table was delayed but has begun, so maybe when that's done we can do a segment on that. Happy to have a gaming afternoon or whatever though anytime if you're up for it.
I don't suppose you know if Australia is going to have to wait as long for RockBand 2 as it has for the first RockBand? It's going to be one of my first purchases on the 360 but I'd rather get the RB2 instruments (will import if I have to) which are apparently improved over the earlier version.
That's all I've got this week. Be good or don't get caught!
GH Aerosmith poop
Well where do i start, i loveeeeeeeeee Guitar Hero so obv when aerosmith was released a bought it straight away, wow that was a mistake i wish i never even bought it, my 2 fav songs are Cryin' and Crazy and they werent on it, pretty much all the songs id never heard of, im amazed they put other random people on it coz aerosmith have enough songs to fill up the game but it was onlly 25 of there songs hmmm. Also i play Guitar Hero on medium and i felt that this one was too easy i needed to play it on hard to get any gameplay out of it (also the only good thing was i bought it for £29.99 and i traded it in the day after for £25 woohoo lol).
Ive got a PS3 (60gb), Wii and a ds and i wanna get an xb360 im just so scared about the 'ring of death' i know sooooo many people that have had to send there xbox away, tomorrow the xb360 60GB is released and were only selling it for £199.99 (i work in blockbuster, all the free movies and game rentals you could want hehe) and i think thats a really good price im tempted to get it.
Oh i got a question last week you said about the rock band/guitar hero peripherals will work on either game obv the drums have to be bought for guitar hero world tour coz it has extra thingys or does it not matter? maybe theyll just release the seperate thingys to be an add on to the rock band drums?
Love the show
GH Aerosmith....erm?!
I bought it just last week and was really excited to play it! It seemed harder to start with, but I didnt feel the songs got too much harder as you progressed through the playlists, as they do in the earlier versions!
However, it didnt take long to complete as there was only one battle + not as many songs in career mode as the earlier GH's! I have played all 3 previous GH's, although I only have a Wii + only own GH 3, but thought the Aerosmith version was quite disappointing in comparison!
The short video sections between each playlist group was out of sync visually, with the audio, which made it look even worse! I felt that although they didnt include Crazy + Cryin' in the playlist, they could have put them in The Vault as they were 2 of the bands wider known hits! Especially as they had both versions of Walk This Way, surely one of them could have made way for a different song?!?!
Bay Stater
Being from the Bay State/Beantown/Home of Aerosmith, I have to say that I really enjoy this game. Then again, I play the GH games every day so I'm somewhat addicted.
I like that they added in the crowd singing along with the songs so you really feel like a rock star playing in front of a crowd. The volume is a little off on some of the songs but for the most part it's cool.
I also like that it's challenging on the "expert" level in terms of the solos. Lots of hammer-ons and pull-offs. It's not so difficult that you can't get through it, but hard enough to challenge you.
Sure there are some songs that I wish were on there, but they did nail down a good amount of the classic Aerosmith tunes. "Dude Looks Like A Lady" just wouldn't work for GH, in my opinion. I don't think there's enough going on on guitar for it to work.
My favorites: Dream On, All The Young Dudes, I Hate Myself For Loving You, Sweet Emotion, Livin' On The Edge, and Kings and Queens.
What I don't like is the price of the game for the amount of songs that you get, but it seems like that's what we'll have to deal with when they put out these "in-between" editions. I love the 80's game because Skid Row's "18 & Life" is one of my all-time favorite songs, but the price tag is super outrageous for that game. I think we'll start to see more of these artist specific games released as the main games (ie. GH:2, GH:3, etc.) continue to be released as well. Rockband is doing "song paks" in addition to the main games so I see the GH franchise doing something similar by these artist specific games.
I'm dying to get my shithooks on Guitar Hero: World Tour (a.k.a. GH IV) because of the drum kit. As a drummer IRL, I'm anxious to see if it's as good as they're bragging about. And I like that there's an option to create your own songs. :)
Hiya Angela & Tracy
I watched all your gaming vlogs and they're amazing :)
I put a lot of games you've reviewed on my Lovefilm rental list! I really want to play Mass Effect and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, like right now.
Oh and the PSP, my Mum bought me one last year - I don't really like it all that much, it needs two analogue sticks, because Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is so awkward to play; it's best on the ps2.
Also, two games I think is a must-have for psp gamers are Gangs Of London and KAZooK - apart from GTA liberty and vice city stories - these are the only two games I play on it.
Gangs Of London is quite good, short game though - but it has mini arcade games on the menu which I think are really good.
KAZooK is tens of mini-games, of varying difficulty - I find this particularly good if you're travelling in a car or train etc.
If you haven't already, I think you should check them out :)
My mum reckons I have too many gaming platforms - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, fat-DS, GameBoy Color, GameBoy original, PC, PSP, a SNES in the loft (scary place!), this Atari style thing I plug into my tv.
I however don't think that's possible!
