Anyone else not getting sound or is it just me?

Sound update!  After rebooting and still unable to hear any sound, I discovered a handy little function was enabled.  aka Mute.

Sound

I've only checked the first 30 seconds or so after the opening credits but sounds fine for me.

Haha!

Sorry Harpy I just had to laugh at that. Oh it's all good...we all have our *blonde moments* I find myself doing such things many times (like walking around looking for a pencil only to realize 10 minutes later that it's behind my ear. One of these days I'll realize to look there first because I do that ALL the time)

Your Mam was absolutley ace, I wish i'd had a musical potty when i was little, you're very lucky. Maybe there's one that flashes differnent colours now. Disco potty with 70's tunes. Did notice a lack of wobbling table this week, is that either of yours keen DIY skills?

I shall def try out ebay for Duke Nukem thankyou, wasn't sure if you'd know some underground type games websites though. Had a go on my Uncles Wii at the weekend, i beat my dad at golf and he plays off a 12, haha haaa, so think i might buy one or wait for your mams. Does your Wii golf game reflect your actual golf game?

Now i feel the need to say in all politeness, how dare you say Glasgow is better than Edinburgh! It may have the shopping and it may have better gay clubs, e.g polo but you can walk to and from places in Edinburgh without fear for your life and it's more pretty. All equal i'd say.

That's it chuck-a-dees, def looking forward to the iPhone games review. The iPint one by carling is fun. Cheers me dears.x.x

Thank you.

For the birthday wishes (though it's still not 'til the 14th so I have 2 weeks yet. I am just thinking ahead of time). I still haven't decided what game yet.

As far as the *controversy* at lesbiangamers.com, well extreme anything is never a good thing. Be it views or whatnot. I thought your article on fat princess was right on. As far as biggest dicks in gaming, haha, oh how typical for some boys to spread negative comments against lesbians when they don't like something. The internet is a wonderful thing but the drawback is that it is an anonymous forum where people feel the need to spread negativity while hiding behind their computer. I'm often amazed at the childishness people sometimes show. I just role my eyes at those things and move on.

Glad to finally get to hear from Tracy's Mom. Very cool!

Great vlog as always! This is one of my favorite vlogs on AE (now if only there was a comic vlog I'd be in geek heaven)

Thanks, Ladies

great vlog again and thank you very much, Tracy´s Mum, for coming to the show and answering the questions.

I should have asked you to say "Culzean" for me, I think everyone says it differently. Next time, perhaps.

Have a safe trip home to bonnie Scotland!

[I understand what Tracy´s Mum means with many games lasting too long. I am the rather impatient person myself and I hate it when I reach a point where things don´t move on (remember 'Larry' and 'SpaceQuest', oh, and the worst of ´em all: 'PoliceQuest', I never got to the first assignment, stupid me). That´s why I prefer sports games or quizzes. Or, let me mention it again, Tetris. Heh. And I played Pong! 28 hours a day. I think.]

binatone!

binatone was the first thing i played too, and we still had it until about 5 years ago. it got chucked when we moved house. well at least i think it did...
and i've also had nearly everything released since then.

did you know about the PS3 platinum range? hits uk shops tomorrow (or 30 minutes or so!) think there's only 5 to begin with, but heavenly sword is one of them. the others are resistance, motorstorm, ratchet and clank and drake's fortune. the last 2 of which i got with my PS3 in feb and paid £35 each for, and play.com are selling them for £15 each! kinda pissed about that!! assassin's creed is following in september, so i'm assuming more are, too. wish they'd release some i don't already own!!

okay, just found a list of the others (i always research when in the middle of posting, that's why it takes me so long to post!!);

Folklore
Formula One Championship Edition
Genji: Days of the Blade
Lair
Ridge Racer 7
Virtua Tennis 3

again, release some i don't already own, lmao!! ok, i don't have formula one, lair, genji or folklore, but still!! or motorstorm.

tbh i don't have that many platinum games (ps1, ps2 and psp) cos usually i've already bought them. still a good idea for newer Playstation owners, though.

another thing, Bioshock, is coming to PS3 in a couple of months, so i'll finally be able to find out for myself why everyone raves about it.

i've been looking at civilization for a while now, but not sure on it. what you said, about this type of games being more suited to the PC, i've always thought that, cos it was so much easier with a mouse, and it felt totally different on the console. the sims actually springs to mind here, i have it on ps2 and it wasn't the same as the pc version at the time, i didn't like it much. however, i enjoy the sims games on the ds and psp, so maybe the console playing grew on me!

i don't think gaming is generational either. my mum looks around Tracy's mum's age, and she's been playing settlers iv for the last week or so. you can't talk to her when she's playing it, cos she doesn't listen, lol! she's always been a gamer, more the settlers and command and conquer types, lemmings, and all those adventure games. that's quite a few genres, when you think about it. ooh, wait, she used to play spiky harold on the commodore 16 (or 64), her and dad would be playing it till all hours! my dad plays too, but not as much as my mum. and we have a few friends around the same age as my parents, that also play. they're forever swapping games!!
so yeah, gaming is definitely not a generational thing *shakes head*.

oh, and btw, Glasgow is SO much better than Edinburgh. dunno where in Glasgow you walk, Harry, but i've never feared for my life there!! edinburgh is okay if you're a tourist, i guess, but like you said, Glasgow definitely has the better shops, well, more of them!

and no, i'm not from Glasgow! lol!

Thanks for the mention

Thanks for the mention :D If you are lucky you can get ps1 games at junk sales. Apart from that: ebay. That's were I re-picked up some tekken games I stupidly sold. They never get old for me :)

Jurrasic Park has had some good movie-tie in games, but not directly...can't think of any good ones right now. And definately not Jumper, nonono. I watched the Bourne Conspiracy review on the TV - and apparently you don't even play as Matt Damon?! And it's a load of those "press a certain button at a certain time" scenes (the name of which escapes me...real time?).

Ha! Stupid hypocrisy on the game site, they can say what they like about women but HOW DARE we poke fun at men!! Stupid flamers...

Btw your Mum is really cool :) And yay for drumming! Fur Elise potty though....:S

And the road stretched on like an angry woman...

Fun!

Thanks again ladies for taking the time to do this blog- It was another fun week.

Civilization- I like the series, but I have a hard time thinking of playing it on a console as opposed to a PC. When I played it, it was such a point and click game that I think it would be awkward to play on a console.

Biggest Dicks in Gaming- I remember reading that article and laughing my ass off.  It doesn't surprise me that some moron adolescent fanboys got a hold of it and didn't see it for the tounge-in-cheek humor it was supposed to be.

Angela- I really enjoyed the Fat Princess article- it was well-thought out and well-rounded. Nice job! :)

Tracy- Your mom is adorable. I loved her imitation of Pong!  I am also glad she didn't restrict your gaming. My mom never censored what books I read or games I played... I guess we know what happens when you don't keep a close eye on your daughters! :)

I have now received my

I have now received my iPhone (yeay!) and off course played some games;

BreakClassic - retro game that I love.

MarbleMash Lite - fun labyrinth game that takes alot of patience. I sometimes have to stop (and calm down) for a few minutes when I don't seem to be able to pass a level. Hehe.

MagicBall - let someone else make the decisions for you.

Cuberunner - fly a ship and try to avoid the cubes.

Tap Tap Revenge -  a poor man's guitar hero (really, it's a free app).

Well all of them are free grames for the iPhone. I want to buy one but I still haven't decided on one yet. Angela if you have any recommendations please share :D

Big thank you!

Hey Dudettes,

Big thank you to your Mum for getting in front of the camera and answering our questions.  What a sweetie!

The only thing I wanted to ask this week was whether you guys have any info on the supposed new 65n gpu chip for the 360 and whether you think, if they are released in the next couple of months, that they will filter down to Australia anytime soon or are we likely to be stuck with old stock for many months to come?

Great vlog as usual. Stay cool!

Well that explains why...

Well, that explains why there were so many copies of "jumpers, the game" on the shelves.  Thanks for the heads up, as I haven't seen the movie, and was basing my query on the kinds sorta cool movie trailers.  I will avoid both now, thank you very much!  Also thanks for giving the thumbandits.com review for "Black" a plug. That is one that I have been interested in getting for my PS2.  Guess I better go hitch up my covered wagon and mosey on into town to pick it up soon.  : ) I am such the technological trail breaker...NOT!  Looking forward to your iphone review, as I am hoping it will shed some light on why there were sooooooo many people lined up camping out outside of all of the electronics/cellular/apple stores last month.  And almost last, but definitely not least, Thanks to Tracy's mom, for answering questions on camera for us. That was wicked awesome! And a bloopers reel at the end of "season 2" would be greatly appreciated, although since you both are such professionals, it would of course be very short.  ; )  And yes I have an aversion to jumpers (the clothing) as I was forced to wear some version or another throughout my "incarceration" in grades K through 6. Oh, the horror!

Hey look the sun is coming up!...

I should be asleep right now...

Nice way to say my last name =P it was close but no cigar. Better luck next time.
*giggle*
Hint: Balambao.. 'Ba-Lam-Bow' Its Philapino, I think heh. You get brownie points for not saying Balboa.

The niece is back on the West coast (other side of the US) again. Totaly not raising her if I can help it.

Never herd of Buzz before this, is it ever coming out on 360? Looks like something I can play with the 'Family'.

Do you know of any good Co-op games that are not split screen for the 360? for instance... that Marvel game that comes with the 360 was fun.

Off she flys with her winged boots and Xena costume! ANTLERS AWAY!!!
Yeah I just totaly put that in my sig...

Civ Rev

Hi ladies -- Thanks for the excellent episode as always.  I really enjoyed the segment with Tracy's mom.  She was a fun guest, and I hope she'll make another appearance in the future.

I have been playing Civilization Revolution quite a bit over the past few days and am enjoying it.  I wasn't quite sure how it would feel on a console.  Let me back up for a minute and say that I am a *huge* fan of the Civilization series and have been for about 10 years.  Back when I was in grad school, the only time I ever skipped a class was because of Civ 2.  I had some time to kill before class one day and thought I'd just get a game started before leaving the house, only I was still sitting there 6 hours later.  :)  That "one more turn" factor can be a killer.  Since then, let's just say that I've been careful not to start a game without a healthy block of free time ahead of me.

Civ Rev is not the same experience as playing on a PC, but then again, it's not supposed to be.  This is a streamlined version that is set up for quicker play, and I can appreciate that.  I think this is the first time I've ever finished a Civ game in less than 3 hours.  I feel like I have more options now.  I can fire up a Civ game on my PC, choose the largest map available, and settle in for a long session of world domination.  If I want something less involved, I can sit down for a quicker experience with Civ Rev in my living room.  As someone noted above, Civ on the PC is very much a point and click experience, so getting used to a new way of scrolling around the map for the XBox version is an adjustment.  Overall, though, I like this new iteration and think it works well for its audience and purpose.  Sid Meier hasn't let me down yet.  :)

Ulala & Judy...

Awww...they make such a cute couple, thank you grrls! Anyway, this was a great episode for me. I'm really glad that you reviewed Civ Rev...I'm a big fan of the old-school Civ games (Civ 1, 2, and Test of Time), but my girlfriend and I played Civ 3 for the first time the other day and we thought that it was total crap...many of the aspects of the game simply weren't as well balanced as in Civ 2. We're looking forward to giving Civ Rev a go though when it's released for the Wii. I'm also sad to see that you guys aren't getting the DS version for over a month, I really hope that you review it when it finally does come out there. I'm seriously considering getting it if the Wii version is delayed too long...I really like the old-school look of it, but I hope that the gameplay features aren't compromised. Also I'm glad to see that someone besides me realizes that political correctness is going too far when it starts interfering with peoples' ability to have fun (especially when it comes to dicks and fat chicks)! You know, it's funny that nobody made a big deal about the Sumo level in We Love Katamari where you play as a fat sumo wrestler rolling around LITERALLY absorbing food into your body to get fatter...it's okay to make fun of fat guys but not fat girls? Talk about sexism...those feminists are just as sexist as the so-called "fat-hating, heteronormative assholes" that they ridicule! I think that Fat Princess looks like a wonderfully cute, fun, and funny game and I don't hate fat women or think poorly of them. I think that they're completely beautiful in a much more realistic way than those anorexic silicon supermodels could ever be. However I'd be the first to admit that there's no way in Hell that I'd be able to carry my girlfriend over the threshold, but I'd gladly hire an army to rescue any cute, chubby princess. Another thing that was really great about this episode was Tracy's mum...I was somehow expecting her to be a bit older, but she looks nearly as young as Tracy herself! Also I actually found her accent to be more understandable than Tracy's usually is...did she practice speaking without an accent or something? It was really funny too how she said that she didn't have any embarrassing stories about Tracy and then came up with that potty thing...so does that music cause a Pavlovian response in Tracy now, like she has to use the bathroom whenever that song plays? lol! }:-P>

Johnny

P.S.:Just let me know if you DO get any other region-free consoles and I'll see about sending you some good North American games from my massive gaming library! };-)>

Buzz Rules hehe

Ive always loved the buzz games and the ps3 ones pretty cool (been playing all weekend with my fiance and friends) its true what Tracy said you cant change the lenght well i couldnt find it anywhere and im pretty annoyed about that i remember on the ps2 ones the longer the lenght the more rounds there were to play, but its still fun esp online when your just too good and people leave coz they dont wanna play with you anymore (my topics movies, i work in Blockbuster).

OOOOH im so looking forward to animal crossing my fiance said i couldnt get it coz i played non stop on my ds and she didnt get any love for ages (little does she know its pre-ordered already).

And silent hill, im the hugest silent hill fan and i cant wait me and my friend have said the day its released (26th sept apparently well in the UK) we will have a little sleep over and play it all night lol.

One more thing, about the 'biggest dicks in gaming' things like this get me so angry how dare straight men say horrible things about lesbians/gays and call us names etc what time are we living in hello the homosexuals rule the earth havent they heard about it, there either angry coz were better at gaming and there scared to play against us or there just pathetic little twats that need a good slap from us very manly, very hairy, ugly lesbians - ha they need to get a life, there sterotypes are so funny 50years ago.

I rambled on im sorry, you girls rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just watched the youtube trailer

I thought the trailer for season 2 was wicked, it made me laugh.

I forgot to ask you weather you have seen the trailer for the game 'wet'? It looks pretty cool its a female character woohoo and shes pretty hot.
