....so i was thinking about the whole dressing up as maria thing... how would it be if you both dressed up as female tennis stars while playing, or reviewing top spin 3 on the wii. my thoughts were Tracey you would make a great maria sharapova (blonde hair obvious choice) and Angela you just have to be ana ivanovic (brunette obviously)....i'm available to be umpire over proceedings... thoughts ladies?

Final Fantasy - Hmm, that title and I share a bitter past. I haven't played any Final Fantasy games since FF1.  I'm bitter because I made it all the way to the end boss only to find out my cartridge was corrupted and I couldn't proceed.  Of course, the Final Fantasy genre now has nothing to do with the old Final Fantasy.  To this day FF1 is still one of my favorite games.

Tracy I don't like Halo either. Infact, I have a bitterness for anything Halo! GRRR! My reason is that 9 year old cousin is the Halo playing Master (he kills me within a minute everytime! Even if you're his *teammate*. So I never get to do anything). Everytime I'm around him he wants to play Halo. Halo, Halo, Halo! I try and try to get him steered towards another game because I hate Halo! Actually I just downright refuse to play Halo with him anymore.

I have no specific questions or anything this time (I'm taking a break from a mound of paperwork that sits in front of me. My mind's still on that a bit. Nothing as a fun as gaming unfortunately) 

Hmmm...my birthday is in 3 weeks...I have to figure out which game(s) I want to request from my family. So many to choose from.

Just to say, I got an iPhone 3G on the 11th of July and i have not been disappointed. It is an amazing phone. Safari is so easy to use on it, tonns better than my old Nokia N95, which had wifi capabilities but i never used because it was such a pain.

 Best thing is it syncs with your itunes library, which is where my entire music collection is, as i also have an ipod, and the touch interface is much quicker and easier than ipod classic but the iPhone has less memory. Nae good. But you can decide what you want to transfer using playlists.

 And no, i don't work for apple. Go on get one. They're ace.

I don't ever play computer games, but do watch as you're such good sports and sure to lighten up anyones day.

Tracey, do you miss Buckfast over there in Aus or have you found a replacement? ;-)

Wow Fallout looks creepy - that's a really cool trailer. I've never played on a FF game but the release on Xbox surprises me too! Also never played a resi game because I used to be terrified of them when I was younger - but I'd be tempted by a new one.

60 player compatitive on RFOM? That sounds like a console crash to me...The god of war trailer was almost slipping into parody...major drama

I agree, putting your Mii in Animal Crossing seems weird.  That's the beauty of Animal Crossing.  Also, WHY is that game sooooo addictive?!?  I can't help it!

I was about to ask about Jumper, as a movie to game, and lo and behold, aquri03 already asked the general question about movie based games. I only ask, because I notice that is is available for the PS2. Yup, still stuck in PS2 land. (if only I had bought euros when the dollar was strong). But I will check out Mercenary, and Mercenaries 2 for the PS2.  Thanks for the recommendation.  I have to wonder about Sony's MAG game. 256 players=chaos. Thanks for explaining the wobbly box.  The out-takes were hilarious!!!  Thanks for being such professionals and soldiering on in the face of uncontrolled laughter.  And, although I was joking about kangaroos being menacing a while back, imagine my surprise to see this on the Beeb.

This and WGN are the only Vlogs I wait for every week. Thank you for the E3 round-up, sounds like there are some great games coming out.

I think I must be the only person who doesn't care about Final Fantasy and Tomb Raider. It's not that I dislike them I just never got into them when I was playing and know when people are getting all excited about the new releases I'm indifferent.

I like Resident Evil, but I bought the wii releases and I thought they were poor so now I'm a little more reserved. I think I'm going to wait for reviews before I rush out and buy it.

On the other hand I'm really excited about Soul Calibur 4 and the new Silent Hill. Soul Calibur - Best.Game.Ever. are you going to be reviewing it on it's release?

I think that E3 thing with your hands was damn funny (yeah, I'm easy at laughing sometimes :P)

Fallout 3: the trailer is really good, I love the retro-apocapilictic feeling of the game ^_^

I really have great hopes for this game, I just hope it won't look too console-game (like Oblivion, sigh, what a waste it was ç_ç). Fortunetely it seems they mantained the adult background and themes, we'll see :D

Fable 2: It looks great, the first chapter was kinda meh...kinda fun, but nothing more. This chapter however seems to be what the first one wasn't.

God Of War 3: I liked the first 2 chapters..but I don't have a PS3, so I guess I will wait :P

To me, the most important game they showed was Dragon Age (medieval RPG from Bioware, spiritual successor of Baldur's Gate? I'm in!!!).

I'm kinda sad Remedy didn't show up to at least say something about Alan Wake, I still have faith in them though..after all they gave us Max Payne :P

Freaking finaly! I can play as my own gender!.. Personaly I think its a 'jiggle/bounce' simulation software problem that prevents some of these game companys from making female playable caricters. Its not like they would have to force the nerds to study the subject matter...

Did you know that Sony, or atleast the SOE branch of Sony has a scholership program spacifactly for female game developers? That shows they are atleast trying to get us in on the action. Plus if we make them then the rest of us might want to play them, right?

this is gonna be a long post! it's becoming my speciality, i can't help it! and i haven't posted on the last 2 vlogs, so i'm catching up!!

firstly, ninja gaiden v heavenly sword - i saw ninja gaiden in a sale, so bought it, although have yet to play it, but will probably get heavenly sword, too!

was in London on holiday recently, and had the chance to get wii fit, but passed it up, idiot, cos i still can't find it anywhere else! also had the chance to try out rock band, hmv had it all set up with sofas and a big tv, again missed that chance too!! tbh, didn't want to look an idiot in front of a shop full of people, lol!!

rock band isn't out on ps3 (in the UK) and already rock band 2 is coming soon. that's just wrong.

in the 2nd episode Tracy said something SO scottish!! can't remember atm what you were talking about but you said - it's wrong, right, it's wrong!! - lol!! actually might not be a scottish thing, but reminded me of my dad going on about Dundee bus drivers saying come on, get off! (although in scottish accent so - come oan, get aff!! i'm not from dundee, btw!). aahhh the funny things i notice!! 

was it Mirror's Edge that Angela said made people sick? won't be good for me, first time i got drunk on Grand Theft Auto 4, i felt so sick in real life. was laying on my bed playing it, and later when i got up, felt all dizzy, too. horrible!! i felt the same watching Blair Witch Project, when they ran through the woods. think it's cos i get travel sick.

Fallout 3 and Fable 2 - wow amazing graphics. the graphics nowadays amaze me more and more, cos i remember what it was like way back on the commodore 16/64!! or even those binatone ping pong games, although that was just plain cool!!

final fantasy is one series i have never gotten into at all. although with them being released on the psp, i was kinda taking an interest, but that's waned now!

i was so looking forward to Resident Evil 5 being released this year, but then again, delays are common place nowadays. still looking forward to it though.

also looking forward to Shaun White Snowboarding (seriously, how good is he?!! and he's still only 21...) although i'll have to get wii fit for the balance board first, lol!! also, looked like Tracy had a bit of a dirty minded moment then, with all the talk of strapping on and off... just me? oh sorry ;) hehe

animal crossing on wii, well it looks good. if this had been two months ago i'd have said, but what's all the fuss about?? thanks to your constant mentioning of animal crossing on the vlogs, i have been playing it on DS for over a month and i am officially hooked!!

only problem i have is, i can't get connected to nintendo wifi. i'm practically sat on top of my router and it won't work. train to london had free wireless network, wouldn't work. hotel had free wireless, wouldn't work. train home had free wireless, again wouldn't work. also tried my sister's DS and it wouldn't work either.
i'm not sure how to set it up manually, so if someone can help, or point me in the right direction, then please do! it would be truly appreciated! =D

i also see a new pikmin game was announced, YAY!!!

now, sorry in advance if you have mentioned this game before, but i really can't remember if you have... the beijing 2008 video game - is it any good?? i have mario and sonic olympics, and recently got winter sports and sports island (all on wii) and i was playing them with my sister, after our week in London. so now since i've been playing them, i'm looking at Beijing 2008 and wondering if it's good. some reviews say it's not, but just wondered if you had it or recommended it at all? (or have previously mentioned it, lol! i'll have to check!)

Final Fatasy for the X-box? Awesome. I am only a casual fan of the series, but I do like to try out the new ones when they come out. I remember being blown away by FF7.

Fable 2 has me drooling. Now I really have a good excuse to splurge and buy the 360 this Christmas. I loved the first one, but am way excited to be able to play as a girl this time. I just hope they dont' make her all skank-a-fied.

I know you guys are on Myspace and Twitter, but have you thought about joining Facebook? I try to avoid Myspace like the plague because of all the obnoxious graphics and music on some peoples' pages.

I also enjoyed the bloopers and watching Tracy swear like a sailor!

First time commenter, long time viewer.  

I have been waiting for the Animal Crossing announcement since I got my Wii, and since I'm a nerd I've been playing the DS Animal Crossing alot this week in anticipation of the new game.  I cannot wait! Also since I'm a nerd and originally from Wisconsin I can't wait for the new Harvest Moon either.  I love virtual farming it turns out.  Although I do like another wonderful life better than any of the newer Harvest Moon games.  But I have been playing the SNES version of Harvest Moon lately as well.

Secondly can't wait for Fable 2.  The only game I've been playing on 360 has been Eternal Sonata as of lately.  Have you played this game?  Did you ever do a review of it? I can't remember.  I really enjoy it actually.  I like the cute graphics. 

Lastly did you hear about the XBOX and Netflix deal?  Supposedly soon you will be about to watch the streaming movies available on Netflix through you XBOX 360 which I think is a cool idea.

I loved the off centre camera position this week. It looked like Luigi was using his magical powers to pull you away from the side of his nemesis Mario. Though perhaps it was some sort of jealousy towards Lara Croft as she seemed to be sucked out of picture by Luigi mojo.

I racked my brain & after two whole seconds I couldn't recall a review of the new Bourne Conspiracy from your fine selves. Perhaps it is I that has amnesia and not Jason. Did you look? Did you play? Did you kill like the trained assassins that you are?Has there actually been a movie tie in game that didn't suck big bikkies?

LOL, anyway, really looking forward to Fable 2 and being able to play as a female.  So glad I'm getting a 360 now.

What I want to ask about is Guitar Hero / Rock Band peripherals and compatibility.  I know you mentioned it in the vlog but I need clarification.  I haven't got any of them yet as I'm only just about to get a 360 in the coming months.  I would ideally like to eventually buy and play GH3, GHWT, RB1 and RB2.  Is there any way I can accomplish that with only buying one set of instruments?  I'd be most grateful if you can let me know.

By the way, you scared me off temporarily last week with the threesome comment, but I'm back now, lol.  Yeah, we should hook up sometime.  I don't get a 'serial killer' vibe from either of you so I'd be up for it.  :-)

Awesome bloopers at the end.  :)  Hopefully I am not commenting too late.  I was stuck in Absurdistan (a.k.a. my office) far too much this week, so I didn't have time until now.

I wanted to say thanks for the fun review of Bad Company recently.  I hadn't been following that game at all, but it looks like a blast, and now I'm definitely going to pick it up.

You two did an excellent job with your E3 coverage (here and in the new AE blog, and on Lesbian Gamers of course).  I am excited about the new XBox 360 dashboard and most especially their upcoming partnership with Netflix.  A good friend of mine recently observed how smart Microsoft's plan is for the Xbox 360 this year. They've got the core gamers with franchises like Gears of War, Fable, and Fallout. The industry is starting to call the players of these games "primary gamers," i.e. the person in a household who plays a given console the most.  The fact that Microsoft spent so much time talking about the upcoming changes means that they understand the potential for the "secondary gamers" market, i.e. others in the household who also play the console, but not as much as the primary gamer. These folks are likely to play casual games (like the stuff found on Xbox Live Arcade) and party games (like Scene It or Rock Band).  In other words, the type of person who might buy a Wii, and who probably doesn't think of him or herself as a "gamer".

You mentioned in the vlog that someone had asked about Mass Effect 2.  I wanted to mention that I just received the September issue of Official XBox Magazine, and there is an excerpt from the upcoming novel Mass Effect: Ascension. The story is said to bridge the gap between the first and second games.  I'm not sure if OXM has international distribution, but this is a really good issue overall, so you should pick it up if you're in the U.S.  The cover story is a preview of Fable 2, plus it has some coverage of Resident Evil 5 and Bioshock 2 (the B2 piece is focused on the team who are making it). 

NOW I am going to have to breakdown and buy an XBox......i know i know....I should have gotten one long ago......FABLE looks amazing...I just checked out the website for it and cant wait....

i can't believe i've never watched an episode of GGWG before (although i'm not really on AE much soooo...) but wow this is great!

fallout 3 looks super and i totally agree about it looking like it has a similar feel to bioshock. i'm really looking forward to playing final fantasty xiii on the 360 because i've (amazingly) NEVER played any of the FF games before!

ps. the 3g iPhone is awesome! i've had mine for nearly two weeks now and i still can't get over how good it is! only downsides are the lack of directly sending/recieving MMS and not being able to record video, but besides those two things it has exceeded all of my expectations :D

I've been literally drooling over the Fable 2 trailers for months now. I can't wait for it to come out. I haven't even got an xbox360 but I'm going to buy the game anyway as an incentive to finish my course and get a job so I can buy an Xbox. How Geeky is that! You get a Dog and everything and you can co-op, so excited. 

I'm also looking forward to Final Fantasy. From the trailer is looks like the lead character is a woman. Is that the case? How do you guys feel about Final Fantasy losing it's sony-exclusive status? I think it's nice more gamers can enjoy it but I can understand why Sony fans would be peeved
