Yay for season 2!!
First of all, I loved the intro lol, so funny :P
And the photos too, seems you had fun ^_^
I didn't play Metal Gear Solid 4, and I'm not really looking forward to it... I played the first chapter at the time but it didn't capture me that much... the Papi vote cracked me up though ahah
Guitar Hero on Tour seems fun, especially the cooperative option, uhm maybe I can use it as a gift for one of my brothers/sisters ^_^
About SingStar I don't know, never played one of them, but I guess my parents/brothers/friends would kill me with a game like that (I already sing a lot by myself lol)
And, ok, you're not great pc gamers, but I just have to say this: DIABLO III!!! Oh god, it was about time :P I think that it will be one of the games I'm waiting for the most, along with Alan Wake, Spore, Mass Effect 2, Warhammer Age of Reckoning and Dragon Age (a girl can dream right? :P)
Well, since I'm talking about PC Games, has anyone try the Spore Creature Creator? It's not even a demo, but it really shows how much potential this game has, my expectations for Spore grow exponentially after playing that :P

I love the metal gears and this one has amzing graphics etc but my god i got really bored with all the cut scenes, your so right that there way too long etc, my mate completed the game and he said that the end sequence is about 1hr 30mins long, Tracey got it right with it being just an interactive movie.
Im a huge fan of the guitar heros and the ds one is pretty cool, and yes my fingers did start to cramp up and being a lesbian thats not something you really want happening hehe.
Singstar is just too much for me i love watching my friends etc doing it but noone needs to hear me sing really thats just too much for everyone i wouldnt put anyone through that pain.
Oh and i loved the opening pretty cool.

I'm going to have to cry is they delay the game again, they're on like the 4th delay.
I always liked the MGS story lines, but hated the gameplay, but I played MGS4, I couldn't stop, the gameplay seems a bit tweaked but still pretty much the same but seems alot better with the better graphics and whatnot, the story is amazing, and the cutscenes are as long as an episode of seinfeld. I agree that the game is an interactive movie, its epic on another level, though some of the cutscenes do sort of take away from it, suppose its ok since others more than make up for it. Kojima should do movies as well, cuz he is an ace at it.
Lol, the frog song. I remember that cartoon Rubert and the Frog Song, I loved that cartoon, but I can just picture people trying to sing it, there might have to be a lot of ....ermm.... spices... there we go, around.

Tracy- I stand corrected- but I will be the first in line in the USA to see Mamma Mia, since it doesn't come out until July 18th here...sad :( But you have to let me know how awesome it is.
Angela- I love how you pimp your site- way to score a great interview (as a BGS fan, I will have to finish fainting first before I read it).
I did what I said and bought Rock Band for the Wii- I have to say, it's is NOT as good as Rock Band on the Xbox 360 (which is the other version I played). There is no create-a-character, there are not that many songs, and you can't download more! I did enjoy the basic premise of the game, but more options would have been nice. Oh, and I did mod my drum set with some rubber and colored felt- it helped a lot with the loud banging of the drums (because I don't wanna work, I would rather bang on the rock band drums all day...)

Snowboarding looks so fun - I was supposed to go last year but broke my shoulder literally a month before :( thank god for holiday insurance! Glad yopu both came back in one piece!!
I do not blame you for falling asleep in the cutscene - when my brother watches it all I hear is blahblahblahGUNSOFTHEPATRIOTSblahblahblahMETALGEARblah so I go out and get some food. The worst were the telephone ones where you just watch a comm-talk. I was stunned by the graphics though it really was like wacthing a movie. I wasn't sure what to make of the female enemies though like the deranged octopus (most tedious fight ever). On one hand, strong woman, on the other hand - has to be crazy. Ho hum. Never thought they captured the atmosphere of the 1st game anyway.
Online mode is awesome though. Far better than GTA.
I sold my singstar to help buy GTA - I never got to play it drunk, that would have been fun.
And the road stretched on like an angry woman...

Oh don't get us started on the 'female enemies' or characters for that matter in Metal Gear Solid 4... how annoying were those shrieks!

I don't know that I agree with Heavenly Sword over Ninja Gaiden II. I've tried to play the demo for Heavenly Sword and I just could not get into it. I even made my friend download the demo again (she tried it before and didn't like it) because you guys have boasted about it so much!
I've been having a blast with Ninja Gaiden II though. I'm on chapter 11 now so I'll finish it up in a day or two, depending how much I feel like playing. One of the boss mobs is, honestly, one of the best boss mobs I've encountered in any console game. The game itself I found to be a perfect mix of straight out fighting as well as puzzles and strategy.
Okay, now ladies, you know Civilization: Revolution shipped yesterday -- It should be up for a review here I think! The demo was pretty good and should provide a good amount of online fun too.
Culdcept Saga - My friend and I got slightly addicted to playing against each other this weekend. Interesting game, but definitely not for everyone. D&D geeks should like it the best. ;)
Speaking of Spore -- Yes, great Spore creator. Lots of fun. And since I know lesbians love the penis... Spore fans should get a kick out of the Penis monsters on YouTube. Hehe.

I haven't laughed so hard in ages...thanks for the link to that video, I hope that I can get a new PC soon that'll be capable of running Spore when the full version comes out. It looks like a truly great rts game in the guise of an evolutionary sim. It puts me in mind of the good ol' days of playing SimLife and SimEarth back on my old P-133. Anyway, games about evolution are SOOO fun! I remember playing Evolution back on the Colecovision and later playing EVO on the SNES...those were such good games.

Ack! Maybe the Heavenly Sword thing is a personal love because of crushing on Nariko - Anna Torv - whilst playing it ;op
The story and characters in Heavenly Sword are what make the game so great. It's way too short though and sadly now it looks like the second one might have been canned.
Could be wrong, but I think we might be getting Civ: Rev in for review according to their pr. Tracy loves those sorts of games, so that will be interesting.

I told you awhile back that my girlfriend(Lori) wasn't really into gaming...well....I finally talked her into buying a DS and now she is hooked (Diner Dash is her addiction at the moment)....She also came home the other day with Guitar Hero on Tour.... I have finally turned her to the dark side... :)
I recently bought a Wii ...LOVE IT!!! Now she wants to buy Mario Cart!

MGS4 was just ok for me. I'm not that interested in cut scenes in games either unless they are reeeaallly good. I haven't found many that fit that bill.
Original Xbox Games - I hope Fable is on your list. I really liked that one even though it didn't completely live up to the hype. Looking forward to Fable 2 coming out this year. I believe I heard it is suppose to have a few things that the first game didn't deliver on.

Thanks for the review on Guitar Hero on Tour. I wasn't sure if it would be as fun as the main console games, but if you give it a Carmen rating, I'm sold!
Oh, I also played the Lego Indiana Jones game.....OMG, so much fun! I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun I had playing. I ripped through the story and went back to explore and found soooo much more stuff. It was really fun!

Yes, I have got Lego Indiana Jones but I haven't played it yet as I also got Professor Leyton and the Curious Village so have been working through that. However I will switch over to Indy asap and post a review for any and all who are interested.
On another note, before I go completely and certifiably crazy, can someone please explain to me what the Spore game is all about? I understand the whole creature creation part but what exactly will the game be? What style/genre gameplay is it? I have no clue. Please tell me it's more than being penis mayor of penis town.

Uhm let me see if I'm able to explain it :P
First of all the genre is simulation/strategy (like all the other Will Wright's title, The Sims and SimCity among them).
You start with your little monocellular being in the water, and you play the game kinda like PacMan.
When the creatures has enough points to evolve so does the game: it shifts location, game structure and objectives.
The next phases (the creature, tribal, civilization and space phases) see your creature finding a partner to reproduce, starting his own tribe and protecting it from enemies. In the final phases you won't just control one creature, but a whole society, with the final goals to control the starting planet and spread troughout the universe :P
In the game you can decide everything: not only what your creature will look like and his life style, but also the looking of the buildings around them.
Spore has also an online component: your PC will download from the online database the other players' creatures to fight against yours.
Well I guess this is pretty much it, hope you understood lol. If you're interest I really recommend to try the Spore Creature Creator (even the free one is fine, almost infinite itself), it gives you an idea of what the game will be like ^_^

Zef.. download the Creature Creator and have some fun with it. I don't think I'll play the full game, but I did have fun with the creator... kind of like how I build houses in The Sims, but don't actually play the game.

I've tossed dear old Professor Layton aside temporarily and got stuck into Lego Indy the past few days. Hoping to get some good hours gaming in over the weekend and then post a review on Sunday. Early impressions are that it is fun and addictive to play. Always looking forward to picking it up and furthering the story.
Actually it's nice to give my brain a break from Professor Layton. Congrats on finishing it. Some of those puzzles are damn hard but I will not move on from a puzzle until solving it, even if that means scratching my head all day at work over it before returning to that curious little village.
Spore creature creator looks fun and I will have a crack at it after Indy and Layton. That's if you don't mind me bumping it up my list of games to play before Animal Crossing. Woot! /runs and protects backside
Getting excited about all the goodness that is E3. Love to see a big round up of it by you girls. You're going to have soooooooo much to cover in the next few weeks what with E3 and your backlog of game reviews. Can't wait to see your take on it all.

I've had a DS for a few months now and I've been playing mostly older games for it since I'm cheap. The only game I can really stand right now is the New Super Mario Bros. game, which I don't think is really that old anyway. I love that game so much it makes me feel like a little kid.
Anyway, I'd read some reviews of Guitar Hero on Tour and it seems like some reviewers didn't really give it a chance. It looks like fun as long as you aren't playing for hours on end. I hope to get it soon though! I'd hardly consider myself a serious gamer but you guys definitely get me excited about gaming. It was a great start to season 2!

I'a a fan of the MGS series, but I'm not suprised that there are excessive cutscenes. Once a friend was watching me play Snake Eater and asked for a go. I set up a new game for him, and he spent the next twenty minutes complaining about all the expositional Codec dialogue he was being forced to sit through before he could actually play.
I was interested in the story, so it didn't bother me that much (I don't think I'd even noticed till he pointed it out), but there were definitely times that I wanted them to shut up with the damn banter and let me brake some frickin' necks.
There was a lot more of that then I remember from Solid Snake, so it seems like the games become more and more like interactive movies each time.
I'm still totally bitter that it'll still probably be over a year before I can afford a PS3 and play it though.
Random question: The photo of Tracey with the headphones was taken on a motel bed right? Because I swear I've seen the exact same bed spread in at least three different motels.

They all have this REALLY long book in the drawer too, not like you'd ever be able to read it during your stay as it rambles on more than a cutscene in MGS4 ;o)

Excellent episode grrls, great snowboarding pics and vids. I LOVED the kangaroos by the way, so seldom do we get to see them here in the States that I sometimes doubt that they actually exist...reminds me of Monkey Island 4. Anyway, thank you ever so much for the shout out and for mentioning Vagiant...they could really use the publicity since they're just a small local band in the Boston area, they only got onto Guitar Hero 2 and Rock Band because they work for Harmonix. So if any of you girls like the songs on those games, they have a couple of other good bi/lesbian songs on their album which you can order here. I REALLY want them to get popular because they rock and I'm hoping that they'll be able to do a national or even a world tour so that I can see them play live in person some day! Also I totally agree that many games are going WAY overboard on the long, boring cutscenes...it all started with Final Fantasy 7 IMO. What's up with the funny little monkey that I saw in the background in MGS4 anyway? Does it belong to that black albino dude (and is he gay)? Well that's about it except me wanting to ask wether you guys have played Space Channel 5 Part 2 for the PS2...it's WAY harder than the original IMO. I totally breezed through the original and I can't even beat the first level on this one, also the challenge mode is completely IMPOSSIBLE...beating 100 levels without making even ONE mistake?!? That's CRAZY! Anyway, perhaps I just need more practice "Dancing Along with Ulala"...the "2-Player" mode is kind of a cop-out too though since each player just controls half of Ulala's movements, it'd be cooler to have a 2-Player duel mode like when Ulala faced off against Pudding and Jaguar in the first game. Anyway, here's to eagerly awaiting Space Channel 5 Part 3 on the Wii and being sorely disappointed if it's never made.

The monkey in MGS4 is a pet of one of the characters (Drebbin), the monkey is called Grey (I think). Not sure if he's gay, he's not out if he is. Otacon and Snake are quite friendly though.. well other than Naomi sticking her nose in.
Space Channel 5 what an awesome game! We're hoping it comes out on the Wii at some point.. shoot shooot shooot! I think we did play the second one a long long time ago, but don't recall it as well as the first on Dreamcast which we both loved!
