Gay Girls Who Game is back with an episode filled to the brim with reviews. Tracy and Angela take a look at "DJ Hero," "Mario and "Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games," "Left 4 Dead 2" and "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2."

And, of course, viewer feedback!

Idea, or is it just me begging for a specific review?
I am going to make my usual (as in: I mention every time I post, not that I usually post) request for a review of Project Nomad (1993, GameTek, for DOS). However, I was thinking that it would be interesting if you did a video of all-viewer submitted review requests. Of course, this would only be during a lull in gaming releases.

I can't believe you didn't
I can't believe you didn't mention the best thing about Modern Warfare 2... NO MORE INFINITE SPAWNING ENEMIES. There's a set number of enemies and once they're dead they're dead, you don't have to leg it from one checkpoint to the next anymore. Playing the SP on Veteran is about 20x easier now, and I've nearly finished it :D I even ventured into some public rooms for MP and it wasn't too horrendous. I gotta say the terrorist level didn't particular bother me (and I shot the civilians, lol). I'm sure I've done worse things in game, and they're only a collection of pixels and coding anyway. (I'm not a psychopath, honest.) It was kind of funny in the end because I was skyping my gf when I was playing and all she could hear was gunshots and screaming. I think she was more traumatised than I was, heh.
Hope you guys get the UK version of L4D2 soon. I really like it, though I know what you mean when you say it feels like an add on. Thanks for the versus game! We'll have to play again soon (and hopefully suck less as survivors.) Also pro tip for dealing with lag: get the person with the best internet connection to host a local server. Xanadugrrl, misajingles and I were getting awful lag on the dedicated servers, we switched to local and it was fine. Just throwing that out there for anyone having problems!
I've been playing Dragon Age as well, though it's kind of fallen by the wayside since L4D2 came out. I love it but you're right when you say it's a long haul. One of my friends just completed it after playing for about 70 hours, though I think you can get through it in less.
i like to watch ... um.. not in a dirty way or anything
#1. I'm with Angela on this one .. Elena is hotter than Chloe! .. based solely on clips and images.. I am definitely an Elena fan lol .. I find it really cute though that Angela likes the blonde and Tracy likes the brunette : )
#2. Alas, I have not yet seen Uncharted 2. My friend said he is planning on renting it - if not buying it, so perhaps I shall see it in the near future. I am excited to check it out, especially since you say it is so cinematic. It's funny because unlike most video game fans I'm actually not a big video game player, I'm actually more of a video game spectator (we will see if that statement gets me ostracized in the gaming community LOL). Honestly, 9 times out of 10 I will get more enjoyment out of watching someone else play a game than I would if I were playing it myself so if he does get Uncharted 2 I doubt I will ever pick up the controller.. I will just sit and watch him play. So for a video game to be made to look like a movie, that is totally up my alley and it makes me super excited to just sit and watch it.
#3. Tracy - I hope that by the time you see this you are feeling better.
Anglea - I am happy to see you survived your trip to Ikea lol :)
I am indeed back and I’ve
I am indeed back and I’ve come swooping in to support Angela! Come on, Elena is so much better than Chloe. Chloe is too rough around the edges… I don’t see her scrubbing up. She would always have dirt under her fingernails… Whereas Elena on the other hand, take her out of the jungle, off bridges, out of combats/jeans and she would still be very cool... with manicured nails (I have a slight nail obsession… I paint mine daily. Actually when I’m heading out on a Friday/Saturday and do my nails, I then game for 20mins… it is amazing – YOU WILL NEVER RUIN YOUR NAILS AGAIN. They all sit on the controller apart from one another and never touch anything… it is the BEST. I get too impatient otherwise trying to do things and always end up scuffing them… but not when gaming!! Gaming beauty tip of the day.)
What have I been doing – hummm, aside from moving and spending a lot of money on Flights and Hotel in NYC and not going but the ex going… not a lot.. (That I wish to disclose...)
Ok so she never became a gamer she was still seething every time she saw me play… she just started to try to support it after 3 years...
I must say trying to fit in gaming with all the wonderful titles that are coming out and being newly single is strenuous to say the least…
I’m still unsure about DJ hero... I think it would be a good one to get when you have friends over... I love Guitar Hero for that reason. In the ‘divorce’ I got the Wii but she kept the Guitar Hero Guitar, no game or Wii just the plastic bit… girls! *sigh* there is never any rational...
If you go on Youtube you can really see how bad the hack-up of the LFD2 Aus is compared to the UK/US version is…
I know you were talking about the single player mode isn’t getting as much attention as multiplayer but I need to say Uncharted 2 not only has a longer single player campaign but also the multiplayer… so I’m not sure.. Will be getting MW2 after I finish Uncharted 2 and AC2.
Really looking forward to the AC2 review..
I now have some truly racking pumpkin guilt! Inferiority never intended... Pumpkins United International! Slightly confused when you mentioned you had Sally (me) – But I’m assuming that was your pumpkin... It gets serious kudos for the fabulous name!!
Right I need to get rolling – off to Madrid for some Pepsi ;)
November was the month for games
You're quite right about Dragon Age:Origins, I've put it in myXbox on November 2nd, and I haven't removed it yet. The only other things I've done with my Xbox are download and watch The Guild and play 1 vs 100. I've played through it twice, and am working on my 3rd and planning for my 4th.
I love how you pushed away the cold impersonal laptop and reached for a fuzzier cuddlier version at the end of the CoD review.
My feelings about L4D2 are that, after I'm over the Dragon Age addiction (over 150 hours and counting) I'm really intersting in seeing how the multiplayer has changed, now that you can have people carrying adrenaline, the defib, and you can choose between melee weapons, dual pistols or the Desert Eagle.
Here Again!!
Well ladies I am alive and well, just life being difficult. Short on cash to do stuff I really want to do, now looking for a better paying job. Know anything that can help me out?
And about Chloe and Elena issue, I love the bad girl look (bad girl right 'ere myself). I think Tracy has a point, a lot of peeps go out with 'Chloe' but settle down with 'Elena' in the end. I guess 'Chloe' give off the danger and adventure persona. ~shrugs~ Thats my take.
~Drools~ Oh so many games I want to get my hands on, but alas won't be able to for awhile. Gotta get the xbox first, still working on that, but for now my ps2 and DS keeping me company.
Keep up what you do well girls, gaming and looking gorgeous. Can't wait for the next episode.

I'm tempted by call of duty
I'm tempted by call of duty since everyone raves about it, but I ain't fab at FPS. My main issue with FPS is the lack of peripheral vision, been playin borderlands and skags keep munchin my arse then turnin round to shoot em takes far too long. Aint played borderlands long yet but thus far it seems fun. Glad its got a split screen co-op, makes it much more fun and yay for there being a girl to play as.
Isn't DJ Hero just Gaytar Hero for chavs that don't like rock music? What next classical music hero? I don't get how ppl have enough room in their houses for all the pretend musical instruments.

Call of Duty
I must admit i'm really enjoying Call of Duty MW2. I played the campaign through before going online as clearly this is the way to go lols. I thought the campaign was a little short but without giving anything away i really enjoyed the storyline. Lots of drama, it felt sort of movie-esque as it were. Especially the ending.
The online play is awesome to, i think it has appealed to a larger audience this time as i have found the skill level more balanced this time. Or maybe, finger crossed, i just got a tiny bit better. lols
I would really love to try Uncharted 2 but i am an Xbox lover and thus cannot play it :( My friends have rubbed in how good it is though.
I look forward to seeing your review on AC2, i completed it in like a week. I think the developers have gone a long way to reducing the repetitive elements from the first one that put alot of people off so that is excellent. Theres alot of fun little features added to and the increased range of weapons and distractions is really useful.
Left4Dead2 is the next game on my list, i have rented it for work so i am looking foward to that.
Anyway, these are some thoughts i had, hope they were nice :D
Hello
Well ladies.....I finished Uncharted 2....Need to go back and find the balance of the treasures that I missed... I agree with Tracy... you date Chloe before you settle down with Elena....
Our TV died so we bought a new 47" LCD.... I immediately hooked the XBox up to it for testing purposes, of course... L4D looks amazing on it.... Am on a mission to finish the campaign on L4D...before I buy L4D2.....
Also bought Fallout3 on Black Friday for $19.99USD...sounded like a good deal.....
As always, I love the vlog.....Keep up your good work! Since I was a slacker last time...I too loved the Brutal Legend review......
Take it easy ladies.....
Something is wrong with me...
i don't really feel like playing video games right now... I havent played much in the last week.
I played through borderlands and it is lots of fun, I like going around and getting headshots on people, and I love hearing the Siren shout out stuff when she gets a critical. Its actually pretty similar to the way i played through fallout except no stealth system. I would say you dont really need to review it, its definetly one of the few games that you can judge by its cover. If you like unrealistic fast paced shooters, like the cell-shaded style graphics, then play it! It doesnt have alot of replay value but its fun while it lasts.
I started Dragon Age and the excellent story and presentation is ruined with a terrible camera system and very dumbed down combat mechanics. I knew that it would never be a spiritual successor to Baldurs Gate as was claimed, but I was hoping they would draw more from Neverwinter Nights in terms of the race/class system. That being said, the combat animations are really well done, and I will probably play Dragon Age excessively next month...
Anyways great vlog once again, hopefully you will find time to cram in some more gaming! Don't push yourselves to hard now...
Zombies!
Excellent vlog again ladies- I enjoyed playing L4D2 with you- even if all you got were rainbows and fluffy bunnies every time you came near a zombie.
Yes, Dragon Age will SUCK YOU IN. Thunderpants and I pretty much geeked out over it for a few nights, discussing possible endings and decisions we could make. Because we are that geeky.
I have no interest in DJ Hero- I can BARELY play the guitar on Rock Band 2, and know that if you add anything more for me to do, i might just die. Thanks for the heads up!
Currently I am playing AC2 and L4D2 with Han M and Misajingles, and but I know we want to try a Versus game and try the other ones, including Scavenge. So if anyone is up for a game sometime, PM me and let me know and I'll try to set something up.
So many games so little time
I have mixed feelings about Modern Warfare 2 now that I've played it thru (offline) once. I really liked the branching out from running around shooting with the various vehicles and terrains and of course the grand Scot, Captain McTavish missions take this game to a new level. It was too short in offline play but an enjoyable romp for what it was.
I currently have Assassin's Creed 2 in my XBox and Uncharted 2 in my PS3. Sooooo divided on what to spend my time on atm. Spoiled for choice. I'll probably leave the best till last and savour Drake & Co over the Chrissy break.
Will be interested to know your Game! Of! The! Year! for 2009. Is there one game that can grab the title or will it have to be broken down into categories?? Of games I've finished, my winner for 2009 is ... <insert dramatic drumroll here> InFamous. A game with no gun wins G! O! T! Y! , yes, I'm shocked too, but I loved everything about InFamous to bits. Special mentions go to Batman Arkham Asylum (shocked at how great this game is) and Borderlands.
I actually managed to get
I actually managed to get home for the weekend and play some up-to-date games!! Haha get me...
I have to agree with you on the COD terrorism scene, shooting people actually made me feel evil. I didn't want to do it but it wasn't really made clear whether you had to or not... the game itself though is lush. I loved the scene near the start where you climb the glacier.
Have you managed to play on Assasins Creed yet? I got a go on that (if a little brief) and I was impressed by that game too! I love that they seem to have made a far better effort on a back story this time. The only minor problem I've already seen (from watching it being played too) is that the new 'notoriety' level thing they have introduced is a little pants...way too easy to lose. But I love all the additional people to hire, and the removal of the silly praying mechanic.
Have to agree with you from last week that Uncharted 2 really pulled out the stops on their intro too - what a way to enter the game! Very innovative loving that title too.
Loving the song at the end :)
The closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes, but don't be afraid...
Whoo!
Dragon Age and Assassin's Creed 2 are both awesome (I did not think they could do better than Assassin's Creed for the sequel, but they really did). I have decided that next year at DragonCon, I am going as Ezio (found this via Google):
That might be a step above before when I went as Yuna from FF X / FF X-2 in her summoner's robe. :p
I liked the music at the end too! Thanks for the Super Mario review, I have been considering that one too. And I hope you ladies have a wonderful christmas! <3
